Report: Randy Costa Faces Journey Newson On September 26 UFC Card

A bantamweight division attraction has been added to the recently announced UFC card on September 26 as Randy Costa faces Journey Newson.

MMA Junkie first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.

Costa (5-1-0) has won just one of two under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Boston Salmon at UFC Fight Night Boston. Costa has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Brandon Davis at UFC 236. Costa has competed six times as a professional MMA fighter and only one of those fights went past the opening round.

Newson (9-2-0-1NC) is winless thus far in the UFC, losing to Ricardo Ramos and fighting Domingo Pilarte to a no contest. Newson has picked up nine wins as a professional MMA fighter, with three coming by KO/TKO, three coming by submission and three coming by decision. Newson also had an extensive amateur MMA career, which included a bout against fellow UFC fighter Ricky Simon.

The recently announced UFC card is set for Saturday, September 26 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
