Report: NAC Clears UFC To Run Three More Events In Nevada
The path for the UFC’s next three events has been cleared by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC), meaning every remaining UFC event for the month of June is good to go.
MMA Junkie reports that the NAC has approved three upcoming UFC cards, with those cards being UFC Fight Night: Eye vs. Calvillo (June 13), UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Volkov (June 20) and UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker (June 27).
Members of the commission met earlier today and voted to approve all three events, which will be run using current coronavirus protocols. The promotion returned to Nevada in late-May with UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs. Burns, which was the first event approved by the commission during the coronavirus pandemic.
Las Vegas is the only home for UFC events at the moment, but that will change next month with “Fight Island,” which is expected to also hold UFC cards, starting with UFC 251 on July 11. The location for “Fight Island” is reportedly Abu Dhabi, but that hasn’t been confirmed at this time.
