Report: Tim Elliot, Jamahal Hill Temporarily Suspended For Failed Marijuana Tests
Tim Elliott and Jamahal Hill both competed this past May at UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs. Burns and now both fighters are facing suspensions due to failed drug tests, as the fighters reportedly tested positive for marijuana.
Marc Raimondi of ESPN reports both Elliott and Hill failed in-competition drug tests issued by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) and have already been temporarily suspended. Raimondi also reports those suspensions could be extended tomorrow by the NAC until the next official meeting takes place with the commission.
Two other fighters in Luis Pena and Marc-Andre Barriault are also under temporary suspension, according to Raimondi, but no reason has been given for their suspensionse. One could be given at Wednesday’s meeting. Pena last competed at UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker, while Barriault’s last bout happened at UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Volkov.
The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), which generally conducts the drug testing for the UFC, has not suspended any of the four fighters at this time.Elliott is the only fighter to compete while being under temporary suspension, as he defeated Ryan Benoit by decision at UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs. Ige.
A short time after the story came out, Elliott posted the following on Twitter:
