Multiple #1 Contenders Bouts, Gauntlet Match, More Added To NXT New Year’s Evil 2023
The card for NXT New Year’s Evil 2023 continues to take shape.
On the first episode of WWE NXT for 2023, several top contender matches were added to the card of the upcoming TV special, including a 20-Woman Battle Royal with the winner facing Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT Vengeance Day on February 4. Also, in the women’s division, vignettes continue to air with a woman promising to bring in the New Year starting on January 10.
Also, next week, a match has been added between Dijak and Tony D’Angelo, where the winner will go on to face Wes Lee for the NXT North American Championship. Both men agreed to this match after Dijak defeated Stacks on January 3 and Tony stepped in to stop his underboss from having further damage inflicted on him. With such a vested interest in this match, Lee will also be on commentary.
Pretty Deadly’s Kit Wilson & Elton Prince have voluntarily agreed to wrestle three teams in a gauntlet match for the opportunity to earn a shot at the NXT Tag Team Champions, The New Day.
Lastly, a match between Charlie Dempsey and Hank Walker, which was supposed to take place tonight, will take place next week.
