Jeff Jarrett: EFFY Is The Most Marketable Star In GCW
Jeff Jarrett was wildly impressed with EFFY, but he still took him to school.
Jeff Jarrett participated in one of the featured matches at The WRLD on GCW against EFFY. On Sunday night, January 23, 2022, Jeff Jarrett walked into the Hammerstein Ballroom and walked out successful against the GCW OG. Now, he is recalling the experience.
Speaking on the latest episode of his My World podcast, Jeff Jarrett explained just how impressed he was with EFFY. Jeff, who has promoted his own wrestling company several times in the past, stated that from a Booker perspective, he believes EFFY is more than fine. EFFY, according to Jeff Jarrett, is the most marketable talent in GCW.
“Never in my wildest dreams did I think that, maybe the hottest babyface on the independent scene, Game Changer has somewhat of a stigma with the deathmatch, but their branding is so much more than that. EFFY, coming to the ring to Elton John’s ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,’ the vibe. Everybody in the building was standing, singing. EFFY, I thought it going into [The WRLD on GCW], but he is the most marketable talent on the Game Changer roster. He connects with the audience. He’s not a seasoned vet and I don’t know his complete body of work, but he knows what he’s doing in the ring, he knows how to connect with the audience. I can’t tell you how impressed, from a promoter, booker, marketer point of view, that I am from that side of it.
From a talent perspective, as the man who just defeated EFFY, Just Jared says he has a lot more to learn and he was glad to give him a lesson and what it means to be in a big-time wrestling match.
“On the talent side, which is even more authentic, what he doesn’t know, he truly doesn’t know. I say that out of all diplomacy. I can assure you…you have elementary school, middle school, high school, and college; he had him a test that he failed. There is no question that he talked a lot of smack. It’s no secret that I’m no spring chicken. Backstage, I’ll say this, I saw his other half, AJ, they came through the curtain and weren’t really happy with me whipping his ass. There were some hard feelings that went down, there was some chatter. EFFY got an education, he got him a real education and I don’t think he expected me to be in physical shape, I’m glad I got my cardio up. It felt good. Hats off to EFFY, but he got an education in the big time. If you’re going to move down the block and try to one day perform in the Garden, you need a couple more lessons from Double J.”
