Report: TJ Dillashaw To Defend Bantamweight Championship In Rematch Against Cody Garbrandt

TJ Dillashaw has his first title defense lined up.

Five months after defeating Cody Garbrandt to become a two-time UFC Bantamweight Champion, TJ Dillashaw has signed a bout agreement to give Garbrandt a rematch according to ESPN. The two last met at UFC 217 on November 4th last year where Dillashaw ended the fight with a knockout in the second round.

In his last eight fights Dillashaw has won seven fights and his only loss in that stretch came when he lost the championship to Dominick Cruz. Garbrandt was undefeated with eleven wins until his loss to Dillashaw at UFC 217. The two fighters were supposed to fight at UFC 213 after a season as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter but the bout was delayed due to Garbrandt's injury.

The fight is expected to be announced soon and will be at UFC 227 in Los Angeles at the Staples Center. No other fights have been announced for the card but it is unclear if Dillashaw and Garbrandt will be the main event.

Fightful MMA will provide any updates to the UFC 227 card.
