TJ Dillashaw Defeats Cody Garbrandt At UFC 217, Becomes Two-Time UFC Champion
TJ Dillashaw ended Cody Garbrandt's undefeated record, and took his UFC Bantamweight Championship Saturday in New York City at UFC 217.
Former teammates, Garbrandt and Dillashaw faced the culmination of their yearlong feud, which saw Dillashaw TKO Garbrandt in round two. Garbrandt met heavy success early, dropping Dillashaw in the first round. TJ returned the favor in round two, while he met vitriol from the New York City Crowd. That didn't seem to phase Dillashaw, as he quickly slugged and finished the Champion

Round Two: The round begins with Dillashaw attacking Garbrandt with a few kicks, Garbrandt nails a leaping Dillashaw with a right. Dillashaw drops Garbrandt with a head kick and Garbrandt gets right back up, Garbrandt responds by catching Dillashaw with a two punch combination. Dillashaw drops a swinging Garbrandt with a counter right hook and he pounces on him with strikes until the referee jumps in.

The two former partners have engaged in a war of words since Dillashaw left Team Alpha Male, which would spill over to a season of The Ultimate Fighter.
At Thursday's press conference, the war between the two fighters heated up. Cody Garbrandt and Chris Holdsworth have accused Dillashaw of taking liberties with Holdsworth then they trained together, claiming that Dillashaw kneed his partner in the head. Dillashaw has repeatedly denied the allegations.
At another point during the presser, Cody Garbrandt seemed to accuse Dillashaw of not only using performance enhancing drugs, but introducing them to Team Alpha Male as well.
After the fight, the two opponents shook hands. Dillashaw called out Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson, saying he was coming for Johnson's UFC Flyweight Championship.
