Report: Montel Jackson Faces Brian Kelleher At UFC 232
A bantamweight division attraction has been added to the upcoming UFC 232 card according to MMA Junkie as Montel Jackson faces Brian Kelleher.
The duo were supposed to meet for the first time at UFC 230, but Kelleher pulled out of the bout on fight day while battling an illness.
Kelleher (19-9-0) has won two of his last three in UFC competition, with those wins coming over the duo of Renan Barao and Damian Stasiak. Kelleher has seen just one of his five bouts in the UFC go the distance and that came against the aforementioned Barao at UFC On Fox 28. Kelleher has won just one of two on UFC pay-per-view cards, with the win coming at UFC 212 and the loss coming at UFC 224.
Jackson (6-1-0) is currently winless under the UFC banner, having dropped a bout to Ricky Simon via unanimous decision at UFC 227. Jackson also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 9, defeating Rico DiSciullo by third round TKO. Jackson has picked up six victories as a professional MMA fighter and five of them have come by way of KO/TKO.
UFC 232 takes place on Saturday, December 29 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
