Report: Mirko Cro Cop Passes Pre-Fight Drug Test Prior To Bellator 200

Mirko Cro Cop is set to make his Bellator MMA debut next month at Bellator 200, facing Roy Nelson in a rematch from their days in the UFC.

The legendary heavyweight has had a sorted past with failed drug tests before and is currently suspended by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).

MMA Junkie is now reporting that Cro Cop has been drug tested prior to Bellator 200 and that the heavyweight fighter has passed said test.

Mohegan Tribe Department Of Athletic Regulation (MTDAR) President Mike Mazzulli was responsible for the testing of Cro Cop. The promotion hired Mazzulli and the MTDAR to handle drug testing and such for the event since Bellator 200 is taking place overseas in England, where there is no athletic commission to oversee the card.

Mazzulli also knows about Cro Cops tainted past with failed drug tests, but has no plans to purposely halt the fighters career.

“The last thing I want to do is adversely affect a guy’s career,” Mazzulli said. “There’s only so many years they have the ability to earn. In my opinion, and in the Mohegan Tribe’s opinion, 2015 was three years ago, so it’s time to allow him to fight and make a living.”

Bellator 200 takes place on Friday, May 25 from the SSE Hydro in London, England with Rafael Carvlaho and Gegard Mousasi headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs via tape delay on the Paramount Network.
