Report: Kurt Holobaugh Faces Raoni Barcelos At UFC Fight Night Boise

A pair of featherweights could be meeting at UFC Fight Night Boise according to MMA Today as Kurt Holobaugh faces Raoni Barcelos.

Holobaugh (17-4-0-1NC) is returning to the UFC after a five year absence from the promotion, with his lone appearance being a loss to Steven Siler at UFC 159. Holobaugh initially defeated Matt Bessette on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 1, but the victory was overturned to a no contest by the NSAC after it was revealed that Holobaugh used IV illegally before the bout. Holobaugh is also a former Titan FC Featherweight & Lightweight Champion, defeating Gesias Cavalcante and Desmond Green to claim both belts.

Barcelos (11-1-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this fight and does so while on the strength of a four bout winning streak. Barcelos is a former Resurrection Fighting Alliance Featherweight Champion, defeating Ricky Musgrave to win the gold in August of 2015. Barcelos also returns to action for the first time in almost two years, as the Brazilian hasn’t competed since October of 2016.

UFC Fight Night Boise takes place on Saturday, July 14 from the Century Link Arena in Boise, Idaho with Junior Dos Santos and Blagoy Ivanov headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
