Report: Gian Villante Faces Ed Herman At UFC Fight Night Moncton
A light heavyweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Moncton according to Farah Hannoun as Gian Villante faces Ed Herman.
Villante (16-10-0) has won just three of his last eight under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Anthony Perosh, Saparbek Safarov and Francimar Barroso. Villante hasn’t won at a “Fight Night” event in almost two years, with his last such win coming at UFC Fight Night 102 in December of 2016. Villante Villante also competed in an alternate bout for the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix, losing to Chad Griggs at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva.
Herman (23-13-0-1NC) has yet to pick up a victory since moving up to light heavyweight in 2016, losing to the duo of Nikita Krylov and CB Dollaway. Herman had previously competed as a middleweight in the UFC, earning a record of 10-8-0-1NC in that time. Herman was a contestant on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 3, making it to the finals before losing to Kendall Grove.
UFC Fight Night Moncton takes place on Saturday, October 27 from the Moncton Events Centre in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada with Volkan Oezdemir and Anthony Smith headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
