Report: Kendall Grove Signs With Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships
After a fifteen-plus year run as a professional MMA fighter, it would appear that Kendall Grove is trying his hand at a new form of combat sport.
MMA Fighting is reporting that Grove has signed a multi-fight deal with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships and will debut at BKFC 2 this August, an opponent has yet to be named.
Grove (23-18-0-1NC) is currently in the midst of a three fight losing streak as a professional MMA fighter, with those losses coming to AJ Matthews, John Salter and Alexander Shlemenko. Grove was the winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 3, defeating Ed Herman in the finals of the reality show. Grove last fought in the UFC over seven years ago at UFC 130, suffering a unanimous decision loss to Tim Boetsch.
The UFC veteran joins other UFC/Bellator MMA alumni such as Joey Beltran, Chris Leben, Phil Baroni and a host of other to compete in bare knuckle fighting.
Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships 2: A New Era takes place on Saturday, August 25 from the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi with no main event announced at this time. It is unknown as to when the promotion will announce Grove’s opponent for his debut fight.
