Report: Devonte Smith Faces Dong Hyun Kim At UFC 234
A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC 234 according to ESPN as Devonte Smith is going to be in action against Dong Hyun Kim.
Smith (9-1-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, having defeated Julian Erosa by first round knockout at UFC Fight Night Denver. Smith earned an opportunity to compete in the UFC after appearing on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 16, defeating Joseph Lowry by first round knockout. Smith is a former V3 Fights Lightweight Champion, defeating Nick Gehrts to win the gold at V3 Fights 65 in November of 2017.
Kim (16-8-3) enters the contest on the strength of a three fight winning streak, having defeated the trio of Brendan O’Reilly, Takanori Gomi and Damien Brown. Kim is returning to action for the first time in a year, as his last bout took place in February of 2018. Kim has seen eight of his professional MMA fights go the distance, with the fighter winning four and losing four of those encounters.
