Report: Chad Laprise Faces Dhiego Lima At UFC 231

A welterweight division attraction has been added to UFC 231 according to Marcel Dorff of MMA DNA as Chad Laprise faces Dhiego Lima.

Laprise (13-3-0) has won three of his last four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the trio of Thibault Gouti, Brian Camozzi and Galore Bofando. Laprise hasn’t had a fight go the distance in over two years and the fighter holds a record of 5-1-0 in bouts that go the distance. Laprise was also the lightweight winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter Nations, defeating Olivier Aubin-Mercier in the finals.

Lima (12-7-0) enters the contest while riding a three fight losing streak and he hasn’t picked up a victory in over two years. Lima did make it to the finals of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 25, but lost to Jesse Taylor in that final round fight. Lima is also a former Titan Fighting Championships Welterweight Champion, defeating UFC veteran David Michaud to win the gold in June of 2016.

UFC 231 takes place on Saturday, December 8 from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with Max Holloway and Brian Ortega headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
