Report: Alexandre Pantoja vs. Askar Askarov Set For July 18 UFC Event

A flyweight division attraction has been added to a yet to be announced UFC card on July 18 as #5 Alexandre Pantoja faces #6 Askar Askarov.

Marcel Dorff of MMA DNA first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card is known at this time.

Pantoja (22-4-0) has won four of his last five in the UFC, with those wins coming over Brandon Moreno, Yuta Sasaki, Wilson Reis and Matt Schnell. Pantoja has suffered four losses as a professional MMA fighter and three of them came to those who competed in the UFC. Pantoja has competed twenty six times as a professional MMA fighter and ten of those encounters went the distance. 

Askarov (11-0-1) has won just one of two thus far in the UFC, with that lone win coming over Tim Elliott at UFC 246. Askarov fought one other time in the UFC, which was a split draw against Brandon Moreno at UFC Fight Night Mexico City. Askarov has picked up eleven wins as a professional MMA fighter and seven of them came by way of submission.

The yet to be announced UFC card takes place on Saturday, July 18 from a location to be announced and with a main event to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
