Report: 17 Fighters No Longer With The UFC, Ben Saunders Among Them
The UFC roster has been trimmed in a big way as 17 fighters have reportedly been ousted from the promotion, with those fighters being Daniel Spitz, Darko Stosic, Hector Aldana, Luke Jumeau, Ben Saunders, Salim Touahri, Martin Bravo, Brandon Davis, Marco Polo Reyes, Carlos Huachin, Brad Katona, Grigorii Popov, Lucie Pudilova, Junior Albini, Nathan Coy, Kalindra Faria and Jin Soo Son.
MMA Junkie and Zane Simon of Bloody Elbow reported all the roster changes.
Spitz (6-3-0, 1-3-0 UFC) hasn’t picked up a victory in over two years and he exits the promotion riding a two fight losing streak.
Stosic (13-4-0, 1-3-0 UFC) exits the promotion while riding a three fight losing streak and all three of those losses came by way of decision.
Aldana (4-3-0, 0-3-0 UFC) went winless during his time in the UFC and he hasn’t earned a victory in over six years.
Jumeau (13-5-0, 2-2-0 UFC) rotated wins and losses during his time in the UFC, with the last bout being a loss to Dhiego Lima at UFC 243.
Saunders (22-13-2, 9-10-0 UFC) has had three separate runs in the UFC and he hasn’t picked up a win in almost two years.
Touahri (10-4-0, 0-3-0 UFC) lost three of three in the UFC and he hasn’t won a bout in over three years.
Bravo (11-3-0, 1-3-0 UFC) leaves the promotion while on a three fight losing streak and it has been three years since he won a bout.
Davis (10-8-0, 2-5-0 UFC) will leave the promotion riding a two fight losing streak and he previously competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 4.
Reyes (8-7-0, 4-4-0 UFC) competed eight times in the UFC and just one of those bouts went the distance.
Huachin (10-5-2, 0-2-0 UFC) went winless during his time in the UFC, dropping bouts to Raoni Barcelos and Jose Alberto Quinonez.
Katona (8-2-0, 2-2-0 UFC) exits the promotion on a two fight losing streak, but he was the bantamweight champion on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 27.
Popov (13-4-0, 0-2-0 UFC) never won a bout in the UFC and he hasn’t picked up a win in over a year.
Pudilova (8-6-0, 2-5-0 UFC) competed seven times in the UFC and six of those encounters went to the judges scorecards.
Albini (14-6-0, 1-4-0 UFC) would pick up a win in his UFC debut, but would go winless throughout the remaining part of his UFC run.
Coy (15-7-0, 1-2-0 UFC) picked up a single win in the UFC and that came over Jonavin Webb at UFC Fight Night 83.
Faria (18-8-1, 0-3-0 UFC) has already booked a bout outside of the UFC, as she faces Sidy Rocha at an SFT MMA event on February 29.
Son (9-4-0, 0-2-0 UFC) went winless during his time in the UFC and both of those losses came by way of decision.
