Katie Taylor is one of the most decorated boxers competing right now, having become the unified lightweight champion and holding titles in other weight classes.
Eddie Hearn says that Taylor has some boxers on her list of dream opponents, but one interesting name on the list is Bellator Women’s Featherweight Champion Cris Cyborg.
“She wants Persoon, she wants Serrano, she wants Braekhus, she wants Cyborg. I’m not saying she’s done after that, but that’s what motivates her,” Hearn said to Irish Boxing.
Neither Hearn or Taylor mention if the potential bout against Cyborg will happen in the MMA cage or in the boxing ring. Cyborg does have some boxing training under her belt, but the Bellator women’s featherweight champion has never competed in a professional boxing match before. Likewise, one thing that Taylor has is no professional MMA experience, but she does have a ton of boxing experience.
There has been no response from Cyborg and/or Bellator officials at this time when it comes to a potential bout against Taylor.
