Dana White Doesn’t Think McGregor vs. Diaz III Will Happen
Former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz have fought twice before, with Diaz winning at UFC 196 and McGregor winning at UFC 202.
There has been talk on both sides in the past about a potential third fight, but UFC President Dana White doesn’t see McGregor vs. Diaz III happening.
“No,” White said at the UFC 249 post-fight press conference (via Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting). “I mean, they don’t like each other, but, no, there’s nothing going on. I mean, Conor wants to fight, I don’t even know if Nate wants to fight. I think they are just talking s*it to each other.”
Both have fought in the UFC since their second meeting, with Diaz defeating Anthony Pettis at UFC 241 and losing to Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244, while McGregor beat Eddie Alvarez and Donald Cerrone, while suffering a loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229.
Neither Diaz or McGregor have a fight booked at the moment, so a potential third fight, however unlikely in White’s eyes, could come to fruition down the line.
