Keith Lee Runs Into Issue Trademarking His Ring-Name Because Of Prior Application By WWE

WWE star Keith Lee is facing problems attempting to trademark his name because of prior applications filed by WWE.

Back in December, Keith Lee applied to trademark his name for usage as a pro wrestler, but now, he’s facing issues with his trademark going through.

Per Heel By Nature, On Monday, June 21, a notice was sent to Lee’s attorney indicating two issues with the application, including a prior-pending application for the name filed by WWE.

“A mark in a prior-filed pending application may present a bar to registration of applicant’s mark. The filing date of pending U.S. Application Serial No. 88594009 precedes applicant’s filing date.”

On the flipside, WWE is also facing issues attempting to trademark the Keith Lee name, which they originally filed in August 2019. WWE has until September to provide a signed consent form to move forward with the application because, in order for Lee to be granted the trademark, WWE’s filing must be once again abandoned, then canceled.

Currently, Keith Lee is out of action, with no clear date to return.
