NWA Back For The Attack To Air In The UK Via Virgin Media, Nick Aldis Comments

The NWA will be airing its pay-per-views via Virgin Media in the UK as Virgin partners with FITE.

The National Wrestling Alliance returns on Sunday, March 21 with Back For The Attack. In the United States, the NWA has reached an exclusive distribution agreement with FITE but in the UK, all NWA pay-per-views will air through Virgin Media channels such as Virgin TiVo, V6 and Virgin TV 360. This is an effort to air the events at a much more suitable time for the UK audience. Typically, WWE events begin airing live much later in the evening, sometimes past midnight.

Speaking with Metro, NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Nick Aldis was proud to partner with such a powerful brand like Virgin.

“Any time you can associate with a brand like Virgin Media, for a company of our stature, we’ve been in operation for three and a bit years – that’s a great win for us. We just hope that it means we can encourage a few more UK fans to give her a go and check out what we have to offer.

“The main thing that I really wanna convey to anyone who’s gonna read this – if you are one of the millions of fans around the world who have fallen out of love with wrestling because the industry just doesn’t quite hit the notes that you remember it hitting, you might find that the NWA hits those notes.”

Representatives from both Virgin and FITE commented on the agreement as they partner to help grow their brands and the National Wrestling Alliance.

“As part of our continued expansion in the UK, we’re delighted to be working with Virgin Media, offering their customers access to our premium live events,” said Ben Halabi, FITE’s senior vice president of international business development.

David Bouchier, the Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media also expressed his excitement for this joint venture with FITE.

“We give our customers access to some of the most popular pay-per-view events from the world of sport and live entertainment and this new deal with FITE we’ll expand our offering with an increased range of events to purchase.”

The pay-per-view event will be headlined by Nick Aldis defending his NWA World Championship against Aron Stevens, formerly Damien Sandow in WWE, in honor of Joseph Hudson, a former wrestler who recently passed away. Learn more about the card thus far at this link.

Fightful will have live coverage of the event beginning on Sunday evening on March 21.
