Report: Curtis Blaydes vs. Alexander Volkov Headlines UFC Fight Night Saskatoon

A heavyweight division attraction is going to be headlining UFC Fight Night Saskatoon as #3 Curtis Blaydes faces #7 Alexander Volkov.

Brett Okamoto of ESPN first reported the main event encounter.

Blaydes (13-2-0-1NC) enters the bout riding a three fight winning streak, defeating the trio of Justin Willis, Shamil Abdurakhimov and Junior Dos Santos. Blaydes has previously headlined two UFC cards and he holds a 1-1-0 record in those two previous encounters. Blaydes has suffered two losses as a professional MMA fighter and both of them came against Francis Ngannou.

Volkov (31-7-0) has won five of six under the UFC banner, with notable wins coming over Roy Nelson, Stefan Struve and Fabricio Werdum. Volkov has also previously headlined two UFC cards and the fighter is undefeated when competing as a headliner in the promotion. Volkov has picked up thirty one wins as a professional MMA fighter and twenty of them came by way of KO/TKO.

UFC Fight Night Saskatoon takes place on Saturday, June 20 from the Sasktel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada with Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
