Alistair Overeem vs. Walt Harris Headlines UFC Fight Night Portland, Several Other Bouts Announced
A heavyweight division attraction is going to be headlining UFC Fight Night Portland as #8 Alistair Overeem faces #9 Walt Harris. Other bouts announced for the card are #14 Vicente Luque vs. Randy Brown, #7 Carla Esparza vs. #8 Michelle Waterson and Don’Tale Mayes vs. Rodrigo Nascimento.
All the bouts were announced during the UFC 247 broadcast, but a bout order hasn’t been determined at this time.
Overeem (45-18-0-1NC) has won two of his last three under the UFC banner, with those victories coming over Alexey Oleinik and Sergei Pavlovich. Harris (13-7-0-1NC) enters the contest on a two fight winning streak and he hasn’t been defeated in over two years.
Luque (17-7-1) has won six of his last seven, with that lone loss coming to Stephen Thompson at UFC 244. Brown (12-3-0) comes into the fight riding a two bout winning streak, defeating the duo of Bryan Barberena and Warlley Alves.
Esparza (15-6-0) will enter the contest on two bout winning streak, picking up wins over the duo of Virna Jandiroba and Alexa Grasso. Waterson (17-7-0) has won three of her last four in the UFC, with those wins coming over the trio of Cortney Casey, Felice Herrig and Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
Mayes (7-3-0) is winless thus far under the UFC banner, dropping a bout to Ciryl Gane at UFC Fight Night Singapore. Nascimento (7-0-0) is making his UFC debut in this bout and does so with an undefeated streak that has lasted almost eight years.
UFC Fight Night Portland takes place on Saturday, April 11 from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon with Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
