Dana White Calls Jorge Masvidal & Kamaru Usman “Neanderthals” For Super Bowl Radio Row Altercation

UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman and BMF Champion Jorge Masvidal recently had a verbal altercation at Super Bowl Radio Row before Super Bowl LIV.

Dana White wasn’t very impressed with what went down between the fighters at Radio Row, calling them neanderthals.

“I don’t love it,” White said on the Will Cain Show (via Nolan King of MMA Junkie). “People think because I’m a promoter I’m like, ‘Cha-ching. That’s great for us.’ But it’s not great for us. We’re here at the Super Bowl – Radio Row at the Super Bowl, the NFL – and these two are acting like neanderthals.”

The altercation forced the hand of White, who was planning on announcing Usman versus Masvidal for UFC International Fight Week in the future, but he revealed those plans a short time after the altercation.

White admits that what went down between Masvidal and Usman could scare the non-MMA people.

“The problem is for the people who (are) in here and the media, it scares (non-MMA) people like this,” White said. “That’s a scary thing when that goes down. If they touch each other, now the police get involved. We’re regulated by the government. Now, the athletic commissions are getting involved (if they touch each other).”

Thus far, no punishment has been announced by the UFC for Masvidal and Usman after their Radio Row confrontation.
