UFC President Dana White has been the figurehead of the MMA promotion for almost two decades now and his name is synonymous with the sport of professional MMA.
The longtime UFC President is entrenching himself into the world of boxing in 2020, one thing White wants people to know is that he’s not just a UFC guy anymore.
“We (White & Floyd Mayweather) both think that we add value to what each other does and we could do something together,” White said at the UFC 245 post-fight press conference (via Milan Ordonez of Bloody Elbow). “Both of us together is more powerful than both of us not together. I’ll probably start talking to (Al) Haymon this summer. I’m not just a UFC guy anymore, man.”
White is expected to work with Floyd Mayweather in his boxing venture, with Mayweather wanting a rematch with Manny Pacquiao when he potentially returns to the ring next year. White is expected to remain the UFC President while also taking part in the boxing venture, but that could obviously change based on how White’s boxing role changes in the new year.
There is no word yet on exactly when White’s boxing venture will hold its first event, but it is expected to happen sometime in 2020.
