Report: Livinha Souza Replaces Cortney Casey At UFC Fight Night Washington DC
Cortney Casey has been pulled from UFC Fight Night Washington DC, replacing her against Virna Jandiroba is Livinha Souza.
Gracie Mag first reported the news, although a reason for Casey’s withdrawal isn’t known at this time.
Jandiroba (14-1-0) is winless thus far in UFC competition, having dropped a bout to Carla Esparza via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale. Jandiroba is a former Invicta FC Strawweight Champion, defeating Mizuki Inoue to win the gold at Invicta FC 28. Jandiroba has picked up fourteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and eleven of them have come by way of submission.
Souza (13-2-0) has won two of three bouts under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the duo of Alex Chambers and Sarah Frota. Souza is a former Invicta FC Strawweight Champion, defeating Katja Kankaanpaa to win the gold at Invicta FC 12. Souza has picked up thirteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and eight of them came by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night Washington DC takes place on Saturday, December 7 from the Capital One Arena in Washington DC with Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
