Report: Cody Stamann Replaces Song Yadong At UFC 235

Song Yadong has suffered an injury and has been pulled from UFC 235 according to Farah Hannoun, replacing him against Alejandro Perez is going to be Cody Stamann.

Perez (21-6-1) will enter the contest on a four fight winning streak, having beaten the four pack of Andre SoukhamthathIuri AlcantaraMatthew Lopez and Eddie Wineland. Perez hasn’t suffered a defeat in over three years, with that last loss coming against Patrick Williams at UFC 188. Perez has suffered six losses as a professional MMA fighter and half of them have come by way of submission.

Stamann (17-2-0) has won three of four bouts under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the trio of Terrion Ware, Tom Duquesnoy and Bryan Caraway. Stamann is a former Triple X Cagefighting and a Michiana Fight League Bantamweight Champion, relinquishing both titles before signing with the UFC. Stamann has competed nineteen times as a professional MMA fighter and more than half of those bouts went the distance.

UFC 235 takes place on Saturday, March 2 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Jon Jones and Anthony Smith headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
