Alexander Gustafsson Promises To Finish Jon Jones In Their Rematch

Alexander Gustafsson and former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones will battle for the soon to be vacated title this December in the main event of UFC 232.

Unlike the first battle that went the full five rounds, a confident Gustafsson promises to finish Jones the second time around.

“I’ll knock him out in the fourth,” he said to MMANYTT. “Jon Jones’ head will bounce off the canvas in the fourth round.”

The two first collided several years ago at UFC 165, with Jones retaining the light heavyweight title via a razor thin decision win. The bout at UFC 165 is widely considered to be one of the greatest championship fights in the two decade-plus history of the UFC.

Gustafsson has also lost a lot of respect for Jones, which is something he had plenty of for the former champion in their first clash all those years ago.

“I don’t have the same respect for Jones as I did five years ago,” Gustafsson said.

UFC 232 takes place on Saturday, December 29 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
