At WWE Backlash 2023, Rhea Ripley beat Zelina Vega to retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship Vega received an ovation from the San Juan crowd, and she delivered a remarkable performance in defeat.
The USA Network Twitter/X account asked fans to name which stars they wanted to see challenge Ripley for the title, which has been renamed the WWE Women’s World Championship. One fan answered by pointing to Zelina Vega. The USA Network account agreed with the pick and stated that Vega would love another opportunity. Vega then replied and said that the post was right. She stated that Ripley did not bury and forget her in Puerto Rico. Vega also teased that she holds grudges.

Ripley recently retained her title by defeating Ivy Nile on the “Day One” episode of WWE Raw on January 1.
