Averno Beats Barbaro Cavernario, Wins World Light Heavyweight Title On CMLL Homenaje A Dos Leyendas

A new Light Heavyweight Champion was crowned.
On March 29, CMLL hosted “Homenaje a Dos Leyendas”. The show featured Barbaro Cavernario defending his World Light Heavyweight Championship against Averno.
After a heated match between the two wrestlers, Averno put away Esfinge with the Modified Camel Clutch to become the new champion. This marks Averno’s 11th title reign with CMLL and his first in the Light Heavyweight division.
This defeat marked the end of Barbaro Cavernario’s 624-day title reign after winning the belt from Noebla Roja on the July 15, 2022 edition of CMLL’s “Viernes Espectacular”. He made three title defenses during the reign.
