Zack Gibson States That Viewers Will See A “Gritty” Wrestling Product When They Tune Into NXT U.K.
Gibson has heaaatttttttt!
Today at 3 PM EST on the WWE Network, the stars of NXT’s U.K. brand will take center stage as the first episode of NXT U.K. will air. Tapings for this show have been held at multiple points throughout the past number of months and today fans will get a glimpse of what the brand is all about. One of the stars of NXT’s U.K. brand is a man who when fans see him, they get together in unison to take their shoes off to show that they can not stand the sight of him and this individual is none other than the winner of the 2018 WWE United Kingdom Championship tournament Zack Gibson.
Gibson recently partook in the latest NXT U.K. TV tapings in Plymouth over the weekend and the set prior in Birmingham and along the way he was interviewed by the ‘Daily Star’. The former ICW Zero-G Champion spoke about what viewers will see when they tune into the Brit-brand and stated that it will be gritty and no one will hold back.
“[Fans] are going to see a gritty product. There is something about the British style and the British talent. It’s like with Hollywood gangster films. If you watch an American production you get these clean cut, straight toothed, perfect stars. But if you go to British cinema you get something like Lock Stock or Snatch. Dirty, gritty and real – that’s what NXT U.K. is.” He explained. “If you look at all of us – just look at our teeth – that tells you everything you need to know and what to expect from the wrestling. No one holds anything back, and no one cares how we look or what we do. It’s going to be raw, it’s a show to get excited about.”
Gibson realizes that the pressure is on the wrestlers of the United Kingdom brand to show up and perform to the best of their abilities and when it comes to being in the top position, he feels that whether it is him or WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne, the U.K. will deliver.
“The spotlight is so focused on us, you can’t help but feel that pressure.” Gibson said. “You just have to rise to it basically. Whether it’s me or Pete in that scenario, it’s not just judging us, they are judging our entire brand based on what we put forward . But I like that pressure, and I have never shied away from the fact I am in this company to move forward and be the top guy. Maybe not the face of the company with my mush, but be one of the top guys.”
On tonight’s episode of NXT U.K., Pete Dunne will defend the WWE United Kingdom Championship against Noam Dar. Also, to read the spoilers from either day one or day two of the recent NXT U.K. TV tapings, click here.
