On the August 19 episode of AEW Rampage, Clayton, a reality TV star, will challenge HOOK for the FTW Championship.
Speaking with TMZ Sports, Clayton previewed the match and promised that it will be HOOK’s most difficult title defense.
“The kid’s really good, but there are some things that HOOK is not that I am. This is going to be his first FTW title defense, and I’m going to say it’s going to be his most difficult,” he said.
Clayton has wrestled several times on AEW Dark and Dark: Elevation, and he also has experience on the independent scene. While he may be considered a heavy underdog, he expressed his confidence ahead of the bout. Either way, he noted that it will be a “great match nonetheless.”
The reality TV star also vowed to make one of the most impressive debuts in wrestling history on Friday night.
“Once this match happens this Friday, they’re never going to forget who I am. I know I’m going to make one of the biggest debuts ever in the sport this Friday on Rampage,” Clayton said.
