Zack Clayton discusses signing with AEW and says that he’s just getting started.

Clayton, who stars on “Jersey Shore Family Vacation”, has competed on several episodes of AEW Dark and Dark: Elevation. He made his AEW TV debut on the August 19 episode of AEW Rampage, where he unsuccessfully challenged for the FTW Championship. In October, Clayton announced that he officially signed with the company.

Speaking with Scott Fishman of TV Insider, he commented on the news and expressed his excitement. Clayton stated that the deal had been a point of discussion for a while, and he also noted that he has been on the road with the company every week.

“Signing a full-time deal is something I’m very excited about. It has been coming I feel for quite some time…I’ve had conversations with them for quite some time. I figured it was coming when I was put on the road every week for about a month or two straight,” Clayton said.

When asked whether AEW was repetitive to him continuing to do Jersey Shore Family Vacation, he made it clear that the show was a factor during his contract negotiations, and the company was happy to grant his request.

“That’s something I spoke to them about during negotiations for a contract. They were more than happy to fulfill that request because that was something I was doing previously. They have allowed me to do that and other things I do right now, which is great,” Clayton said.

Given his experience with “Jersey Shore Family Vacation”, Clayton knows that it’s important for performers to get on TV and craft their personas. While other wrestlers often focus on getting on the main TV shows, Clayton highlighted the viewership of AEW’s YouTube programming. He then teased that he’s just getting started, and big things are coming.

“It’s very important to be on camera as much as possible. Whether it’s formal TV or YouTube shows, which for all intention purposes get 500,000 views a week. More than most cable TV is doing. I’m having consistency now on the road. I’m really just starting. There are big moments to come,” Clayton said.
