Yutaka Yoshie has tragically passed away at the age of 50.

Yutaka Yoshie has sadly passed away.

The long time AJPW star’s passing was announced on All Japan Pro Wrestling’s social media on the morning of March 10th. The post would explain that Yoshie returned backstage after his latest match for the promotion as part of the Takasaki tournament, and was quickly transported a nearby hospital, where he would later pass away.

Beginning his career in New Japan Pro Wrestling in the mid 1990’s and following his contracting expiring, Yoshie had been a prominent freelancer in the Japanese wrestling scene since the mid 2000’s. Yoshie won several championships throughout his career, including multiple tag team title reigns with several different partners, including Akebono and Hiroshi Tanahashi.

Throughout his career, Yoshie competed in NJPW, Pro Wrestling Noah, All Japan Pro Wrestling, and Pro Wrestling Zero1.

All at Fightful would like to express their condolences to Yoshie’s family during this time. May he rest in peace.
