Yuki Arai Discusses Rivalry With Maki Itoh, Says Desire To Beat Her Is What Keeps Her Going
Yuki Arai talks her rivarly with Maki Itoh.
Despite only becoming a full-time wrestler in 2021, Yuki Arai has already made herself a career rival in Maki Itoh. Arai’s one reign as DDT Iron Man Heavy Metal Champion came to a quick end in 2018, as Maki Itoh beat her on the night she won the belt. Since then, the two have stood across the ring from one another in multiple tag matches, as well as one singles match that took place earlier this year.
In a new interview with WrestleInn, Arai discussed her rivarly with Itoh and how the desire to beat her keeps her career going.
“I had beef with her even before I joined TJPW. She was the one who took my Ironman Heavymetalweight title after all. She was also my debut opponent too. My first title match was against her too. I’ve never been able to beat her. It’s frustrating but one day I’ll get a win over her. My desire to beat her is what keeps me going. And at the same time, she’s also a senior I respect and has taught me many things as well. She the #1 person I’d like to beat now. I always have it in mind I’ll beat her one day!”
