YOH To Team Up With Michinoku Pro’s MUSASHI In NJPW Super Junior Tag League

New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s annual Super Junior Tag League tournament will kick off on October 21 and end at Power Struggle on November 4. The winners will earn the right to challenge for the IWGP Junior Tag Team Championships. YOH typically teams with Lio Rush, but the latter has been sidelined with an illness. As a result, NJPW previously noted that YOH would team up with someone else.
NJPW has announced that YOH made an appearance at a Michinoku Pro event and asked MUSASHI to team up with him for the tournament.

YOH took a surprise trip to Iwate this past weekend, where Michinoku Pro was running an event. YOH wasn’t just there to catch the action though, as the night ended with an appeal to one of the crowd favorites to form a team for the impending Super Jr. tag League.
During the intermission, YOH made his appearance as a special guest of the promotion, and addressed the crowd on the mic. Local favourite and 13 year M-Pro veteran MUSASHI was signing autographs when he heard his name called out by YOH. ‘Nice to meet you- but this isn’t the first time, is it?’ MUSASHI would remark before all became clear.
Both had grown up as high school amateur wrestlers, and through a connection between their respective coaches, ended up meeting one another quite often as well as lodging together during high school meets. The connections formed years ago would now pay off, as YOH, in search of a partner due to Lio Rush’s absence to illness, had a fine alternate in the M-Pro star. How will YOH and MUSASHI fare in SJTL?
