Xavier Woods Says He Hasn’t Heard Of Wrestlers Using AI For Ideas

Xavier Woods discusses the possible implementation of AI into pro wrestling.

Xavier Woods has not heard of wrestlers using AI to come up with ideas.

The growth of artificial intelligence in media has been hard to miss as of late, with the recent strikes in Hollywood being influenced by this rise. One only has to look at social media for a small amount of time before being hit with images and art created through the means of AI, including vocal deepfakes also.

While speaking to AIForHumans, Xavier Woods was asked if he had heard of any professional wrestlers using AI to come up with ideas to be used in wrestling. Woods explained why AI would not be able to understand the intricacies of the sport after noting that he had not heard of any talent using it.

“No, not at all because professional wrestling is such an art form that so many people are tied to; mind, body, soul, and ego. It’s a huge part. In order to do something like that, you have to have a certain amount of ego and certain people can keep it in check, like in any job or profession, and certain people can’t. Wrestling works in such a way that, if we have an idea of what we want to do when we go out there, and something else happens and the crowd loses their mind, when we go back, we’re going to go, ‘Let’s do this instead.’ Here’s what we think the next three weeks is going to look like, but then we go out the next week and you get fired up for something else. We adjust constantly based on what we feel from the audience.”

Woods is well aware of the advantages of AI, as he is an avid gamer and is the host of UpUpDownDown.

Tony Khan has previously admitted that he attempted to write an episode of AEW Dynamite with the assistance of AI. You can read more here.
