Xavier Woods: I’m The First Man To Break Roman Reigns’ Win Streak, Why Don’t We Talk About It?
Roman Reigns hasn’t been pinned since WWE Tables, Ladders, and Chairs 2019 when he lost a TLC match to Baron Corbin.
Since becoming the Tribal Chief in the summer of 2020, Reigns has not been pinned or submitted. However, he has lost.
“Yes. Very much so,” Xavier Woods told Simon Miller of WhatCulture when asked if he was in line for a proper match against Reigns after the two went to a no contest on the November 12, 2021 episode of WWE SmackDown. “The fact that I won King of the Ring by defeating a former Intercontinental Champion in Ricochet, a former Heavyweight Champion in Jinder Mahal, the first-ever Unievrsal Champion in Finn Balor, and then going on to defeat each of the Usos in singles competition, and then be the only man — sorry, Seth Rollins, we’ll talk about that one but not mine — I’m the first man to break Roman Reigns’ two-year winning streak. People don’t talk about it, why? Tell me why. I don’t understand whhhyyyyy we don’t talk about this! I’ve been killing it. Next year is 20 years in the game.”
At this point, Shelton Benjamin jumped in the interview and asked Woods to not speak of this match and his victory over Reigns.
“I just have to interject. We’re talking about the fact that you beat Roman Reigns, right? We can’t allow that. I’ve been sent in to have you cease and desist. This interview will end if you keep talking about that particular match where you beat Roman Reigns. You’re to have to stop talking about that. We can’t talk about you beating Roman Reigns, under no circumstances,” said Benjamin.
Woods replied, “You’re not the first person to tell me that. So, I understand. I understand.”
The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) interfered in the match between Woods and Reigns, attacking Woods and causing an end to the match.
Seth Rollins also defeated Reigns by DQ at WWE Royal Rumble 2022. Reigns remains the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
