WWN Live Issues A Statement On The Status Of Matt Riddle
Matt Riddle’s tour ends in August.
Over the past number of days rumors and speculation have picked up amongst the public that the Allentown, PA native and former two-time PROGRESS Atlas Champion Matt Riddle is WWE bound. The rumors were incited last night when Pro Wrestling Guerilla announced that Riddle has been pulled from the ‘Battle Of Los Angeles’ tournament this September.
Matt Riddle is also the EVOLVE Champion and while the rumors concerning Matt’s potential jump to WWE are in headlines, he is the current champion of another promotion. WWNLive issued the following statement on Matt Riddle’s status and noted that Riddle is scheduled for dates during the early portions of the month of August but he will be defending the EVOLVE Championship against Darby Allin on August 11th and the closing of the statement read that if Riddle is still champion after that defense then he will be added to additional dates.
“EVOLVE Champion Matt Riddle has been the subject of rumors. Riddle is confirmed for all four August EVOLVE events, where he will defend the championship at EVOLVE 108 against Shane Strickland in a Hardcore Rules Match on August 4th in Philadelphia. If Riddle is successful, he will defend vs. Darby Allin at EVOLVE 110 on August 11th in Chicago. Riddle is set for non-title action vs. Austin Theory at EVOLVE 109 in Melrose, MA and JD Drake at EVOLVE 111 in Livonia, MI. If Riddle is still EVOLVE Champion after August, he will be added to additional dates. Riddle is currently scheduled to miss the September weekend due to previously approved personal obligations.”
