– Michael Cole & Corey Graves welcomed the audience to the broadcast before transitioning into the opening contest. Let the War Games begin.
Women’s War Games Match.
Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Shotzi, & Bianca Belair vs. Damage CTRL (Asuka, IYO SKY, Bayley, & Kairi Sane).
Becky Lynch & Bayley kicked off the proceedings. Lynch tossed Bayley’s head into the turnbuckle. Bayley came back with some punches, but Lynch caught her with a shoulder tackle. Lynch hit a corner lariat on Bayley and climbed to the top rope, but Bayley caught her with a jab. Lynch went for a dive, but Bayley evaded and kicked Lynch in the abdomen. Lynch & Bayley exchanged forearm strikes before Lynch hit a lariat on Bayley, followed by an Exploder Suplex. Bayley tossed Lynch into one of the cage walls before tossing Lynch into the opposite cage wall. Bayley got Lynch on the steel intersection of the two-ring structure before suplexing Lynch into the metal plate. Becky got back up and tossed Bayley into the cage before hitting her with a series of sliding kicks and locking in the Disarm-her, but Dakota Kai attacked Lynch with a kendo stick.
Shotzi joined the match. Bayley tried to close the door to stop Shotzi’s entry into the match, but Shotzi slammed the door on Bayley’s face. Shotzi brought in a series of chairs & a trash can before entering into the match. Shotzi hit a diving crossbody on Bayley before setting up a chair and hitting a Guillotine Senton on Bayley off the chair. Bayley rolled to the other ring, but Shotzi responded by hitting a Tope Suicida on Bayley. Lynch & Shotzi surrounded Bayley before Bayley climbed to the top of the cage. Lynch & Shotzi brawled with Bayley on the top of the cage before dropping Bayley off the cage. Lynch & Shotzi hit a double-diving shoulder tackle on Bayley to leave her lying.
Iyo Sky joined the match with a steel chain, attacking Shotzi & Lynch with the chain before catching them with a double springboard Shotgun Dropkick. Sky hit a series of Meteoras on Shotzi & Lynch. Bayley & Sky attacked Lynch in the top rope before hitting her with a double-suplex to the center of the ring. Sky & Bayley then attacked Shotzi in the corner and went for another superplex, but Shotzi fought them off.
Bianca Belair came into the match and attacked Bayley & Sky with her two braids, saving Shotzi in the process. Belair got SKy and spiked her with a Reverse Powerbomb into the trash can before hitting a Spinebuster on Bayley. Belair attacked Sky in the corner, but Bayley caught Belair off one of her braids. Belair fought off Sky & Bayley before hitting them with a double suplex. Shotzi hit a Splash on Sky while Lynch hit a Leg Drop on Bayley.
Kairi Sane joined the match with a trash can lid. Sane hit a lid-assisted back fist on Shotzi before hitting a lid-assisted dropkick & taking out Belair with a dropkick and a basement lariat. Sky, Bayley & Sane attacked Shotzi & Lynch before Sane & Sky hit an assisted Elbow Drop on Shotzi, who was buried on a stack of chairs. Sane attacked Belair, but Belair caught her in a Military Press before tossing her onto Bayley & Sky. Bayley attacked Belair with a chair, with Damage CTRL regaining control of the match.
Flair joined the match, hitting the Lethal Combination on Bayley before tossing Sky into Bayley with a Fall-Away Slam. Flair fired away with chops on Sane & Sky before grabbing Sane and tossing her into the ropes with a Dall-Away Slam. Sky went for the Tijeras, but Flair launched Sky with a Powerbomb onto the cage. Sane & Bayley attacked Flair before tossing her into the other ring. Flair fought Sane & Bayley before hitting a Diving Cutter/ Blockbuster Combo on Bayley & Sane. Flair & Lynch had a staredown, but Sane & Sky attacked them from behind. Flair & Sky climbed to the top of the cage, but Sky dropped Flair off the cage. Kai passed a trash can to Sky, who was on the top of the cage. Sky put the trash can on herself before hitting a diving crossbody off the cage.
And just like that, the pain arrived. Asuka brought in a series of black & blue kendo sticks before bringing in a table & a fire extinguisher to the match. Damage CTRL attacked Team Belair with the kendo sticks before wrapping Belair & Lynch with a chain and hitting a dropkick on them. Asuka climbed to the top rope and misted Shotzi in the face before hitting a diving dropkick on Lynch, who was covered by a trash can, for a near fall. Asuka, Bayley & Sane set up a table while Sky attacked everyone with a kendo stick.
Bayley & Sky got Flair to the top of the ring, but Lynch & Belair dropped them. Flair climbed to the top of the cage and hit a Moonsault off the top of the cage on Damage CTRL before going for the pin on Bayley, but Bayley kicked out. Lynch & Flair double-teamed on Damage CTRL before hitting a double suplex on Sky & a double Powerbomb on Sane. Lynch & Flair hugged in the center of the ring, but Sky & Asuka got them in pins. Flair & Lynch locked in submissions on Sky & Asuka, but Bayley & Sane broke the holds. Lynch got Sane in the Disarmher, but Bayley got her with a V-Trigger. Belair & Shotzi hit a Doomsday Device on Asuka before Shotzi went for a pin, but Bayley broke it up. Bayley hit a Rose Plant on Lynch, but Shotzi caught her with the Sliced Bread. Asuka tried to mist Shotzi, but Shotzi evaded before Belair sprayed Asuka with the Fire extinguisher. Sane hit a Spinning Back fist on Shotzi, but Flair caught her with a Big Boot. Flair went for a Spear, but Bayley took the bullet for Sane. Shotzi hit a Senton before Belair hit the KOD. They got Bayley for Lynch before Lynch hit an Avalanche Uranage on Bayley onto the table to pick up the win.
Winners: Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Shotzi, & Bianca Belair.
– Chelsea Green, Pier Niven & Alpha Academy (Maxxine Dupri, Akira Tozawa & Otis) watched the show backstage before they were interrupted by Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson). Prince & Otis had an argument about the Ruffles before they tossed them into the trash. Wilson tried to pick up the mess, but the returning R-Truth confronted him. R-Truth had a bag of chips before Tozawa did his dance.
– Sami Zayn & Jey Uso spoke backstage, with Zayn saying that he was worried because Randy Orton was not here yet. Uso told Zayn that he would check on Cody Rhodes to see if Orton was coming.
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match.
GUNTHER (c) vs. The Miz.
The opening contest began with Mia hitting a kick on GUNTHER’s leg. Mia hit another two kicks on GUNTHER, but GUNTHER backed Miz in the corner. GUNTHER went for a chop, but Miz evaded and hit a chop of his own. Mia went for another kick, but GUNTHER responded with a vicious chop to drop him straight to the mat. Miz hit an uptick and hit three chops, a series of jabs, and gut kicks before slapping GUNTHER in the face. GUNTHER tried to chase down Miz, but Miz attacked GUNTHER’s leg before slamming his leg into the ring post. Miz locked in the Figure Four on GUNTHER’s leg before getting back in the ring with a springboard, but GUNTHER caught him with a big boot.
GUNTHER picked Miz up and caught him with a chop before backing him into the corner and hitting two vicious chops and a big boot on the corner. GUNTHER hit a series of body slams on Miz before kicking his back and hitting a German Suplex on Miz. GUNTHER went for a Powerbomb, but Miz reversed it with a Hurricanrana. Miz continued to attack GUNTHER’s knee, but GUNTHER responded with a knee lift. Mia got GUNTHER’s knee wrapped on the middle rope before hitting a diving knee drop. Miz hit a series of kicks on GUNTHER’s left leg before hitting a series of kicks on GUNTHER’s chest. GUNTHER hit a chop and went for a lariat, but Miz responded with a Tilt-to-Whirl DDT on GUNTHER to get the pin, but GUNTHER kicked out at two. Miz went for the Skull Crushing Finale, but GUNTHER evaded and hit a Shotgun Dropkick before hitting a Liger Bomb on Miz to get the pin, but only got a near fall. GUNTHER locked in the Sleeper Hold on Miz, but Mia pulled the turnbuckle pad. Mia used the distraction to hit a kick on GUNTHER’s kneecap before hitting a Low Blow and the Skull Crushing Finale to get the pin, but GUNTHER kicked out at two.
Miz went for another, but GUNTHER sidestepped. Mia slammed GUNTHER into the exposed turnbuckle, but GUNTHER was still locked in the hold. GUNTHER hit a vicious slap on Miz before catching him with a lariat. GUNTHER climbed to the top rope and hit a Splash on Miz’s back before locking in the Boston Crab on The Miz before transitioning into the Liontamer. With the submission of the 9-time Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho, Miz’s dreams to equal “The Demo-God”’s record dashed as he submitted, going GUNTHER the win & title retention.
Winner & Still WWE Intercontinental Champion: GUNTHER.
– Judgment Day spoke backstage after they heard the news of Randy Orton not arriving to the arena. Balor joked by saying that either Orton no-shows or he betrays his team.
Santos Escobar vs. Dragon Lee.
Escobar attacked Lee not he very beginning of the match, which he followed by stomping down Lee in the corner before hitting a Tilt-to-Whirl Backbreaker for a near fall. Escobar hanged Lee on the top rope before catching him with a running dropkick for a near fall. Escobar hit a kick on Lee’s chest before catching him with a Meteora in the corner and tossing him to the outside. Escobar tossed Lee into the stairs before wrapping Lee’s leg in the stairs. Lee escaped by hitting a series of back elbows before catching Escobar with a thrust kick. Lee got back in the ring before hitting Escobar with a Hurricanrana on Escobar to send him off the apron to the floor, which he followed up by hitting a Tope Con Giro on Escobar. Back in the ring, Lee went for the early finish by hitting the Incinerator on Escobar, but Escobar kicked out.
Lee hit a jab on Escobar before hitting him with The Waste Land. Lee climbed to the top rope, but Escobar caught him with an enziguri kick before getting Lee and hitting an Avalanche Hurricanrana on Lee to get the pin, but Lee kicked out. Escobar continued to attack Lee before ripping Lee’s mask. Escobar got Lee for a Superplex, but Lee pulled him in the top rope before catching him with the Hanging Coup de Grace on Escobar for a near fall. Lee went for the Destino DDT, but Escobar caught him with a Superkick to drop him to the mat. The two former AAA Champions exchanged punches & V-Triggers before Lee spiked Escobar with a Liger Bomb for a near fall. Lee went for the Destino DDT but Escobar reversed it and hit a Canadian Destroyer before hitting the Phantom Driver for the pinfall win.
Winner: Santos Escobar.
– The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) arrived at the arena in a Slim Jim car, where they said that they would eat as many Slim Jims as possible to earn the car.
WWE Women’s World Championship Match.
Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Zoey Stark.
Ripley & Stark argued before exchanging slaps. Stark hit a takedown as the two exchanged punches. Stark hit a dropkick to send Ripley out of the ring, which Stark followed up on by hitting a dicing crossbody on Ripley to the outside. Back in the ring, Stark hit a springboard dropkick before going for a pin on Ripley, but Ripley kicked out. Stark went for a slingshot move, but Ripley intercepted her with a Headbutt. Ripley went for a Brainbuster on Stark on the apron, but Stark responded with a Draping DDT on the apron before getting her back in the ring and hitting a Corkscrew Senton on Ripley for a near fall. Ripley & Stark brawled outside of the ring, but Ripley responded by tossing Stark into the ring post.
Back in the ring, Ripley hit a series of headbutts on Stark while talking trash to the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion before lifting her and hitting a Deadweight Suplex on Stark for a near fall. Ripley locked in a Bow and arrow on Stark’s back before catching her with Three Curb Stomps & a drop kick. Ripley picked Stark, but Stark responded with a boot. Ripely hit a knee strike on Stark before catching her with a lariat in the corner. Ripley got Stark on the top rope before hitting an Avalanche Hip Toss on Stark. Stark rose back up and caught Ripley with a Superkick to get the pin, but Ripley kicked out.
Stark went for a roll-up before hitting an uptick. Ripley hit a kick on Star before hitting a Facebuster & a Northern Lights Suplex on Stark for a near fall. Ripley slapped Stark and went for the Riptide, but Stark evaded before dropping Ripley with a sliding Dropkick for a near fall. Stark hit a Thrust Kick on Ripley, but Ripley caught her with a vicious headbutt before hitting the Riptide for the pinfall win.
Winner & Still WWE Women’s World Champion: Rhea Ripley.
– Cody Rhodes tried to calm Seth Rollins, Jey Uso & Sami Zayn because Randy Orton had not gotten to the arena yet. Rollins & Uso left for the ring before Zayn told Rhodes that they were depending on him.
Men’s War Games Match.
Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins & Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre & Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh).
Rollins began the match hitting a Tope on Balor from one ring to the other. The two foes brawled in the ring before Rollins tossed Balor across the cage. Rollins went for a Buckle Bomb on Balor, but Balor evaded and hit a lariat on the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Balor tossed Rollins into the cage before catching him with a chop and hitting a sling blade on Rollins. Rollins & Balor got on the metal connection in the middle of the double ring. Rollins went for a pedigree, but Balor tossed him with a back drop. Balor went for the Coup de Grace, but Rollins evaded before hitting a Sling Blade of his own. Rollins fired away with punches on Balor before catching him with a forearm, a back breaker, and a V-Trigger on Balor.
JD McDonagh joined the match, but Rollins caught him with a boot kick. Rollins tried to pick McDonagh’s head, but JD caught him with a kendo stick. McDonagh & Balor attacked Rollins with their kendo sticks. Rollins tried to fight them off, but McDonagh caught Rollins with an Asai Moonsault from one ring to the other. Balor & McDonagh continued to attack Rollins’s back with the kendo stick before they hit a double cross-arm suplex.
Jey Uso joined the match with a chair. Uso attacked Balor with a chair before hitting the Rocky Maivia jabs on The Irish Aces before catching Balor with a Spinning Enziguri kick. Uso hit a Hip Attack on Balor, but McDonagh caught him with a Running Spanish Fly. McDonagh & Balor went for a Double Suplex on Uso, but Rollins saved Uso before they caught Balor & McDonagh with stereo thrust kicks. Rollins hit a Tight Rope Axe Handle on Balor from one ring to the other while Uso stomped down McDonagh in the other ring.
Priest & McIntyre argued before Priest joined the match. Priest attacked Uso & Rollins with a Baton before catching them with back elbows in the corner, a Broken Arrow on Uso & a Flatliner on Rollins. Priest then climbed to the top rope and hit a Diving Swanton on Rollins & Uso off the top rope. Priest continued to beat down Rollins on one ring while Balor & McDonagh attacked Jey Uso in the other ring.
Sami Zayn joined the match next. Zayn attacked McDonagh with a kendo stick before slamming the cage door on Balor. Zayn pulled a table from under the ring and brought it into the cage. Priest attacked Uso, but Zayn clotheslined Priest into the midsection of the ring before stomping away at Priest. Zayn hit a Blue Thunder Bomb on Balor before climbing to the top of the cage. McDonagh caught Zayn at the top, but Zayn dropped him on his cards before attacking McDonagh & Balor with a lead pip rom the cage, which he followed up on by attacking Priest with the pipe.
Drew McIntyre joined the match, where he slammed Rollins into the corner before hitting an overhead Suplexes on Zayn, and an Alabama Slam on Rollins onto Zayn. McIntyre then made his way to the empty ring to catch Jey Uso all for himself. McIntyre went for the Future Shock DDT, but Uso reversed it with a series of slaps. McIntyre hit a Neck Breaker on Uso before tossing him into the cage repeatedly. McIntyre picked Uso up and drove his head into the cage while Balor & McDonagh attacked Zayn. McIntyre went for the Claymore, but Uso caught him with a Thrust Kick before he & Zayn hit the 1D on McIntyre.
Cody Rhodes joined the match, with Rhodes watching Priest with two jabs before tossing him to the cage. Rhodes attacked Balor & McDonagh before catching McDonagh with a lariat, a back drop, and dropping Balor onto McDonagh. Rhodes got a Bull Rope before he & Rollins hit a Bull Rope lariat on McDonagh and hit Balor in his Princes with the bull rope. Rhodes & Rollins helped their team regain control of the match.
Dominik Mysterio joined the match, attacking Rollins, Uso & Zayn before hitting the Three Terrible Amigos on Rhodes. Uso, Zayn & Rollins surrounded Dominik before they & Rhodes laid in the beat down on Mysterio. After they set up a table, Rollins went for a Table Bomb on Dominik, but McIntyre & the rest of the Judgment Day attacked Rollins & the rest of Rhodes’s team. McIntyre & Priest picked up Rhodes, Rollins & Zayn before hitting them with a Triple Chokeslam, leading to McDonagh to hit a Moonsault on Zayn, Balor with a Coup de Grace on Rollins, and Mysterio hits a Frog Splash on Uso. Priest then picked up Rollins and hit the Razor’s Edge on Rollins through a table.
Rhea Ripley sprinted into the ring and tried to get Priest to cash in on Rollins, but that’s when the Music played. It was not a Fire or voices, it was Randy Orton making his WWE Return. Orton hit a series of lariats and a power slam on Dominik before hitting a Powerslam on McDonagh. Orton got Balor and hit a Drapping DDT. McIntyre & Orton had a stare-down, but that was until Priest attacked Orton. Judgment Day attacked Orton on one side of the ring, but Rhodes, Uso, Zayn & Rollins made the save. Team Cody got every member of the Judgment Day & McIntyre before spiking them with Draping DDTs. Orton looked at Jey Uso and teased going for an ROK on Jey Uso. As Uso & Orton argued, Uso caught Priest with a Superkick before Orton hit an RKO on Dominik. Rollins hit a Stomp on Priest while Rhodes hit the Cody Cutter on Balor, and Uso & Zayn hit a Helluva Kick/ Uso Splash combo. Rhodes’s team surrounded JD McDonagh, which led to McDonagh climbing to the top of the cage. Zayn & Rollins caught McDonagh before tossing him onto Orton, who spiked him with an RKO mid-air. This led to Rhodes getting Priest and spiking him with a Crossroads for the win. Rhodes, Orton, Rollins, Zayn & Uso stood tall.
Winners: Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins & Randy Orton.
– After the match, the crowd erupted as Living Clour’s remastered version of “Cult of Personality” played across the arena. It was revealed to be none other than Chicago’s own CM Punk making his WWE return after nine years. CM Punk embraced members of the crowd to end the broadcast. It’s clobbering time again, folks.
