WWE Smackdown At Madison Square Garden Produces Highest Grossing Gate In The Show’s History
WWE SmackDown at Madison Square Garden was a success on multiple fronts.
On September 10, WWE returned to the famous New York arena for the first time in two years. According to Ariel Helwani, the show generated the highest-grossing gate in SmackDown’s 22-year history.
Last night’s WWE Smackdown at MSG produced the highest grossest Smackdown gate of all time, per sources. Not just in NY. Of any city ever for any SD. (Smackdown has been around for 20 years.)

The show featured Brock Lesnar confronting Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman, Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch’s contract signing, a surprise appearance from NBA star Trae Young, and the return of Finn Balor’s Demon character.
WWE also announced that they would be returning to MSG on December 26 for a live event. The Boxing Day show has become a tradition, but never took place last year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
