WWE Smackdown! Live Results 8/29 Shelton Benjamin Makes His Smackdown! Live Debut & More!

This is the Fightful.com live coverage for tonight's episode of WWE Smackdown! Live. After leaving WWE and going on to be a global star in Japan, Shelton Benjamin makes his Smackdown! Live debut when he teams up with Chad Gable. Be sure to come back here at 8 PM to see if the Gold Standard is Ready Willing and Gable.

-Jinder Mahal comes out to start the show and talks about how he's disrespected and how he is the best in the business. The Singhs start tearfully apologizing to him and their countrymen and family for failing to beat Shinsuke Nakamura last week. Jinder then makes them kiss his feet before Shinsuke interrupts them and takes out all three of them momentarily before being overwhelmed. Randy comes out and evens up the odds until Rusev comes out of nowhere and takes him out. Jinder then hits the Khallas to Shinsuke as the four men stand tall as we go to commercial.

The Ascension vs Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable

Chad and Viktor start the match off before Shelton is quickly tagged in, Shelton showing off his strength by hitting a butterfly suplex for a quick two count. The Ascension then come back and send Gable out of the ring and to the floor once he tagged in as we go to commercial.

Gable tags in Shelton as we come back from commercial, Shelton taking out both members of the Ascension with a series of kicks and high flying moves for a quick two count. Shelton then hits a flat liner for the pin and the win.

Winner: Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable via pinfall

-AJ Styles comes out to issue the WWE United States Championship Open Challenge with Tye answering before Baron attacks him from behind. Tye then takes out Corbin before the match starts.

AJ Styles vs Tye Dillinger WWE United States Championship Match

Tye goes after AJ immediately before AJ comes back and locks in the Calf Killer for the tap and the win with the match lasting only a few minutes.

Winner: AJ Styles via submission

-After the match Corbin comes back and kills Tye before AJ hits him with the Phenomenal Forearm. Corbin then yells at AJ before leaving as we go to Rusev and Jinder talking in the locker room. Rusev says that they aren't friends and after they win tonight that he is coming for the title as we go to commercial.

Bobby Roode vs Mike Kanellis

They lock up to start the match before Roode takes Mike down and mocks him before playing to the crowd. They lock up again for a not so clean break before Mike beats on Bobby in the corner until the official pulls him off. Roode comes back with a series of chops before Mike nearly drops him with a right hand. Roode comes back and drops Mike repeatedly before hitting a blockbuster off of the second rope. Roode hits a spinebuster before playing to the crowd and hitting the Glorious DDT for the pin and the win.

Winner: Bobby Roode via pinfall

-Aiden English is singing in the ring before Kevin Owens comes out and tells him to leave so he can talk before Aiden leaves. Kevin talks about his constantly losing in rematch after rematch for the WWE United States Championship for the past several weeks. Kevin says that the match result doesn't matter because Corbin was the referee for the match and not Shane and that Shane screwed him out of the title before saying that it wouldn't have happened on RAW. Kevin calls Shane and ego maniac before Shane comes out to the ramp before Shane explains what happened and that he doesn't care what he has to say before telling Aiden to get back in the ring because he has a match with Sami Zayn up next. 

Aiden English vs Sami Zayn

Aiden goes right after Sami as soon as the match starts, hitting him with a series of strikes before finishing up with a scoop slam for a quick two count. Sami sends Aiden out of the ring before hitting a flipping senton over the top rope and rolling him back into the ring for a quick two count of his own. Kevin gets in the ring and takes the referee's shirt off before arguing with Sami. Kevin then hits Sami with a pop-up powerbomb before counting the pin for Aiden for the win.

Winner: Aiden English via pinfall

New Day vs The Usos

The match starts during the commercial, but once we're back from commercial the Usos, specifically Jimmy Uso is in control of Big-E before he hits a uranage. Kofi and Jey come in, Kofi dropping him repeatedly before hitting a boom drop, but Jimmy comes in and saves Jey. Kofi then puts Jey in a dragon sleeper before Jimmy breaks it up, then Jimmy gets the blind tag before rolling Kofi up for the pin and the win.

Winner: The Usos via pinfall

Tamina vs Enhancement Talent

The girl comes at her, but Tamina pushes her off and hits her with a series of headbutts in the corner before tossing her across the ring and dropping her with a boot for the pin and the win.

Winner: Tamina via pinfall

Shinsuke Nakamura & Randy Orton vs Jinder Mahal & Rusev

They brawl before the match starts, first in the ring and turn out of it, Shinsuke and Randy clearing the ring as we go to commercial.

The match starts during the commercial with Jinder in control of Shinsuke as we come back from commercial, keeping him grounded and away from Randy. Shinsuke hits a jawbreaker before tagging in Randy who hits Jinder with a series of European uppercuts in the corner. Jinder rolls out of the ring when Randy goes for an RKO before Randy drags him back into the ring. Randy hits a fall away slam before Jinder sends Randy out of the ring and Rusev pushes him into the ring post. Rusev puts Randy back into the ring for a quick two count before Randy tags in Shinsuke after Jinder goes shoulder first into the ring post.

Shinsuke drops Rusev with a single leg dropkick and a series of kicks before following up with double running knees in the corner for a near fall. Shinsuke puts Rusev in an armbar that Jinder breaks up before Randy DDTs him. Shinsuke then hits a knee off of the top rope and the Kinshasa for the pin and the win.

Winner: Randy Orton & Shinsuke Nakamura via pinfall
