WWE SmackDown on FOX Results for 10/11/19 2019 WWE Draft Night One Reigns vs Rollins
The first night of the 2019 WWE Draft kicks off tonight with Smackdown! on FOX at 8pm EST!
Good evening Fight Fans! It’s time for Smackdown on FOX and the first night of this year’s WWE Draft! We hope you enjoy the show and be sure to check out the post-show podcast!
They lock up to start the match before Seth puts Roman in a headlock and Roman drops him with a shoulder block before Seth reapplies the headlock and hits a side headlock takeover before Roman rolls him backwards for a quick two count. They lock up again for a clean break before Seth rolls Roman up for a quick two count and hits a wrecking ball dropkick before Roman catches him fount die a suicide dive and Roman dodges several flying moves by Seth before they get in each other’s faces and exchange right hands. Roman then drops Seth with a jumping clothesline and tosses him out of the ring as we go to commercial.
Seth is in control as we return to the ring before they counter each other’s attempts at a suplex before Roman dodges a curb stomp and Roman hits a sit-out powerbomb for a two count. Seth counters a superman punch into a flat liner into the middle turnbuckle and clotheslines Roman over the top rope before hitting two suicide dives and a springboard knee into a frog splash for a near fall. They exchange punches and kicks until Seth hits a buckle bomb and Roman a superman punch for a near fall before Seth counters a spear into a variation of a pedigree for a near fall of his own. The lights then go out and The Fiend comes up from the ring and drags Seth under the ring before he gets free and The Fiend peaks out of the hole before the lights go out and Bray laughs and appears in the center of the ring before the lights to out again.
Winner: Seth Rollins defeats Roman Reigns via disqualification when The Fiend interferes thus awarding RAW the first pick in the draft.
-We see the war rooms for the USA and FOX executives backstage before the rules of the draft are explained and Stephanie McMahon comes out onto the stage before it’s announced that the RAW Women’s champion Becky Lynch is picked first and heard to RAW before Roman Reigns is announced second and headed to Smackdown. The O.C. is selected as a team for RAW before Bray Wyatt is selected for Smackdown and we end the first round with Drew McIntyre on RAW before we see the FOX war room celebrating. We then throw to a panel for the WWE Draft with Renee Young, Booker-T, Beth Phoenix and Samoa Joe.
-Joe Buck and Troy Aikman talk about the draft before Troy says he’d use a piledriver as his finisher in the ring.
Baron Corbin vs Chad Gable
Corbin sends Chad across the ring and out of the ring before sending him into the barricade, Chad countering a scoop slam and sending Corbin into the ring post. Back in the ring Chad focuses on the knee of Corbin and tries to take the larger Corbin down to size before Corbin drops him with a boot for a quick two count. Corbin beats Chad down and turns his attention to the crowd before Chad hits a baseball slide and Corbin sends him over the announce table before chokeslaming him onto it as we go to commercial.
Chad counters Deep Six into a bulldog and hits a running splash into a rolling kick before Corbin rolls out of the ring and Chad dropkicks him into the time keeper’s area. Chad rolls Corbin back into the ring and hits a moonsault for a near fall before Corbin hits a spinning side slam for a near fall and Chad hits a bridging German suplex for a near fall. Chad then hits a dead lift German suplex before he attempts a second and collapses, Chad countering a chokeslam into a sunset flip for a near fall before locking in an ankle lock. Corbin then gets back to his feet and hits The End of Days for the pin and the win.
Winner: Baron Corbin defeats Chad Gable via pinfall with The End of Days.
-The panel of NFL on FOX talk about the draft and their favorite legends of the sport that they’d draft before Stephanie comes back out for round two of the draft. It’s announced that Randy Orton will be headed to RAW, Sasha Banks to Smackdown, Ricochet to RAW, Braun Strowman to Smackdown, and Bobby Lashley to RAW to end the second round. We then see the USA executives celebrating before we throw to the panel and Samoa Joe talks about how good and experienced everyone RAW has picked before Booker-T compares FOX to the New York Yankees and we get a recap of the confrontation between Braun Strowman and Tyson Fury ahead of their match at Crown Jewel.
-We get this week’s Match Flo featuring the shocking arrival of Cain Velasquez to WWE and the match made between Cain and the WWE champion Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel before Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar come out to the ring. Paul talks about how most people cower at their fears before saying that Brock fears one thing in life and that is when Cain defeated him in the UFC and that Brock has no excuse for losing that fight and is testament to how good Cain is. Paul addresses Cain showing up last week and says that Brock embraces and conquers his fears and will conquer his fear at Crown Jewel before they’re interrupted by Rey Mysterio and Cain Velasquez, Rey throwing up stills of their fight on the big screen. Cain says that he’s going to beat Brock again before saying that he’s going to give him a scar to match the one on the left side of his face in Spanish as translated by Cain before Cain and Rey leave.
-We get a video package for The New Day meeting two sisters, who survived breast cancer brought to you by the Susan G. Komen Foundation through the Champions of Hope contest before they come out onto the stage and are awarded with WWE Women’s championships in pink.
New Day vs The O.C.
It’s announced as The O.C. make their way to the ring they the wildcard rule is gone before Karl and AJ take out Xavier at ringside as we go to commercial. We return to Kofi getting the tag and dropping AJ with a jumping clothesline and hitting a Boom Drop before hitting him with an enzuigiri and a diving cross body for a two count that Karl breaks up. Xavier catches Luke with an enzuigiri and hits a tornado DDT before hitting a flipping senton to the outside and taking out Gallows and Anderson, AJ and Kofi countering each other until AJ gets a near fall off of a roll up. Kofi then hits the Trouble in Paradise for the pin and the win.
Winner: New Day defeat The O.C. via pinfall when Kofi pins AJ with the Trouble in Paradise.
-The first pick in the third round is Alex Bliss for RAW, Lacey Evans for Smackdown, Kevin Owens to RAW, The Revival to Smackdown, and RAW finishes round three with Natalya.
-We then see the USA executives celebrating before a Smackdown Women’s Championship rematch is announced for later tonight between the champion Charlotte and Bayley as we go to commercial.
-We kick off the final round of night one with The Viking Raiders going to RAW, Lucha House Party to Smackdown, Nikki Cross to RAW, Heavy Machinery remaining on Smackdown before we see the FOX executives and the final pick for tonight for RAW is announced as The Street Profits. On the panel Joe sides with RAW, Beth with Smackdown and Booker-T sides with both before talking about how great Ricochet is.
-We get a video package for Tyson Fury ahead of his match against Braun Strowman at Crown Jewel.
Smackdown Women’s Championship Match
Charlotte (c) vs Bayley
Before the match Bayley takes out a stick and destroys the inflatable arm flailing tube men that is a signature of her entrance as Charlotte looks on before she makes her way to the ring and the match gets started. Bayley rushes Charlotte and backs her into the corner before they brawl and Charlotte hits a neckbreaker before Bayley rolls out of the ring and Charlotte sends her into the barricade and over the barricade. Bayley then pulls Charlotte down to the floor by her hair and sends the back of her head into the steps before Bayley gets back into the ring and plays to the crowd as we go to commercial.
Bayley has Charlotte in a cravat and a side headlock as we come back to the action in the ring before Charlotte sends Bayley off of the apron and Charlotte hits a slingshot cross body before tossing Bayley back into the ring and chopping her. Charlotte suplexes Bayley and rocks her with a forearm before she starts focusing on the legs of Bayley to set up the Figure Eight, Charlotte booting Bayley off of the apron and down onto the floor before hitting a moonsault off of the barricade. Charlotte gets a two count once they’re back in the ring and Bayley counters into a Belly to Bayley before Charlotte hits a flat liner into turnbuckle and goes for a moonsault, but Bayley gets her feet up and Charlotte is ready, Charlotte locking in a Boston crab. Bayley gets to the ropes for the break and gets a two count off of a leverage pin before raining down punches to Charlotte in mount and hitting a back suplex into a running knee in the corner. Bayley then goes up top and hits a diving elbow drop for a near fall before she throws a fit and Charlotte hits the Natural Selection, Bayley countering a Figure Eight into a cradle for the pin and the win.
Winner: Bayley defeats Charlotte via pinfall to become the new SmackDown Women’s champion.
-We end the show with Bayley saying “Screw all of you.” to the WWE Universe before leaving as we go off the air.
