WWE SmackDown (7/28/2023).

  • Jey Uso & Roman Reigns began the show with a promo. Reigns said that he was the reason the crowd liked The Usos and why Jey Uso before asking if he wanted the title of “Tribal Chief”. Jey said that he did not and said that all he wanted was to help Reigns because he believed Reigns could lead the company & the family, but blamed him for breaking the Bloodline & Jimmy Uso. Reigns said that he did not mind losing because he was still Roman Reigns, but said that it was a fantasy because Jey could not beat him, but Jey responded by saying that he already pinned him and he would do it again at SummerSlam. 
    • Backstage, Jey Uso was confronted by Grayson Waller backstage. Waller offered a spot on the Grayson Waller Effect with “Little Jey”, but Jey caught him with an uppercut. 
  • United States Championship Invitational – Finals: Santos Escobar def. Rey Mysterio (via Referee Stoppage due to Rey Mysterio getting injured).
    • Escobar will challenge Austin Theory for the WWE United States Championship on the 8/11/2023 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
  • Bianca Belair was interviewed by Kayla Braxton but was interrupted by the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Soya Deville & Chelsea Green. They exchanged words until Belair challenged one of them to a match, but Charlotte Flair interrupted and offered Belair a tag match against Deville & Sonya later in the night. Belair rejected the offer, but Flair instead state that she would speak with Adam Pearce. 
  • Hit Row (Top Dolla, B-Fab & Ashante Adonis) cut a promo running down on the crowd, but LA Knight interrupted them ahead of his match against Adonis.
  • LA Knight def. Ashante “Thee” Adonis (w/ Top Dolla & B-Fab of Hit Row).
  • Jey Uso was met with Adam Pearce, who informed him that Grayson Waller demanded a match against Uso. Uso officially accepted the match. 
  • Bobby Lashley spoke with The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins), with Lashley saying that they should dress like stars. Lashley gifted Dawkins & Ford a rack full of Suits.
  • Bianca Belair & Charlotte Flair def. Sonya Deville & Chelsea Green.
  • Bayley watched the match backstage, but Iyo Sky confronted her and asked her why she left her last week. As Bayley explained that she left because of Shotzi’s vignette, she pulled out a letter from Shotzi saying “See You Soon”. Sky & Bayley were about to escape, but they were stopped by WWE Women’s Champion Asuka. Asuka said that she would not allow Sky to cash in her Money In The Bank, but Sky said that she would still end up as the WWE Women’s Champion at a later date. 
  • Adam Pearce was confronted by LA Knight, who wanted to enter himself in the SummerSlam Battle Royal. Sheamus interrupted proceedings and talked trash to LA Knight before Pearce added both Sheamus & Pearce to the Battle Royal and set up a match between the two for the 8/4/2023 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
  • Grayson Waller was interviewed backstage, saying that he would beat Jey Uso later in the night.
  • Karrion Kross (w/ Scarlett) def. “The Machine Gun” Karl Anderson.
    • Kross & Scarlett continued to attack Anderson after the match, but “Michin” Mia Yim & AJ Styles ran to the ring before Kross & Scarlett left the ring.
  • Jey Uso vs. Grayson Waller.
    • Solo Sikoa, Paul Heyman & Roman Reigns watched the match from ringside. Sikoa & Reigns tried to attack Jey after the match, but Jey caught Sikoa with a Thrust Kick before hitting a Spear on Reigns. Jey went for a splash, but Sikoa dropped Jey off the top rope before planting him with the Spinning Uranage. Sikoa & Reigns hit the Spear Spike (Samoan Spike/ Spear combo) on Jey, with Reigns standing tall to end the broadcast.
