WWE SmackDown (10/14/2022) Live Coverage.

– Michael Cole & Wade Barrett welcomed the audience to the broadcast from Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio before quickly transitioning into the opening match.  

– An extremely brief video showing Bray Wyatt’s logo and Wyatt’s return on Extreme Rules 2022 showed ahead o the match between Solo Sikoa & Sheamus.

Sheamus (w/ Butch & Ridge Holland) vs. Solo Sikoa (w/ Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso & Sami Zayn).

The two locked up in the middle of the ring to begin the match before Sikoa leaned Sheamus onto the corner. The two locked up again before Sheamus got a wrist lock on Sikoa but Sikoa hit a forearm strike on Sheamus to break the hold. Sheamus and Sikoa exchanged forearm strikes and chops before Sheamus hit a lariat on Sikoa. Sheamus hit an uppercut on Sikoa before leaning him into the corner with his forearm on SIkoa’s chest. Sikoa hit two headbutts on Sheamus. Sikoa went for a hip toss, but Sheamus intercepted Sikoa’s arm and hit a short-hand lariat on Sikoa. Sikoa hit a running leg lariat on Sheamus before Sheamus tossed Sikoa onto the apron. Sheamus went for the 10 beats of the Battering on Sikoa, but Sikoa hit a back elbow strike and tossed Sheamus out of the ring. Sheamus leaned in the steel stairs, but Sikoa surprised him with a vicious hip attack on Sheamus’ shoulder onto the stairs before the commercial break. Back in the ring after the commercial break, Sikoa hit a nasty hi attack on Sheamus’ head on the corner to Zayn’s delight on ringside. Sikoa went for another hip attack, but Sheamus popped back up with a wicked clothesline on Sikoa. Sheamus hit four corner lariats on Sikoa before hitting White Noise on Sikoa for a near fall.Sheamus climbed to the top rope, but Sikoa slapped Sheamus on the corner before hitting a Super Samoan Drop off the Middle Turnbuckle on Sheamus for a near fall. Sheamus went for the spinning Uranage but Sheamus hit elbow strikes and a tilt-to-world power slam on Sikoa. Sikoa rolled into the apron but Sheamus caught him from behind and hit sixteen Beats of The Battering on Sikoa. Sheamus went for a Brogue Kick but Sikoa turned it into a superkick. Sheamus hit a V-Trigger on Sikoa and went for a pin on Sikoa, but the referee was distracted by Sami Zayn. Butch & Holland brawled with The Usos & Zayn, with The Usos turning the broadcast table over Holland to lay him out. Sheamus hit a diving lariat on The Usos and got back in the ring, but got his leg caught by Zayn. Sikoa took advantage of the brief distraction by kicking Sheamus on the left arm before hitting the Spinning Uranage on Sheamus for the pinfall win.

Winner: Solo Sikoa (w/ Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso & Sami Zayn).

– After the Match, Zayn, The Usos & Sikoa attacked Sheamus outside of the ring before placing a chair on Sheamus’ wrist. Jey Uso slammed the chair repeatedly on Sheamus’ wrist, pillmanizing the arm as The Bloodline stood over The Celtic Warrior.

– There was a video package highlighting Rey Mysterio’s trade from Raw to SmackDown and becoming the #1 Contender for the Intercontinental Champion. Afterward, There was a segment showing Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci confronting Mysterio backstage before Mysterio challenged one of them to a match. 

– Bray Wyatt cut a promo backstage. Wyatt said that revenge is a confession of pain. Wyatt said that he felt back in hell and confessed that he has problems and that he has always had them. Wyatt said that, for whatever reason, he gets chances that most people won’t get and was content to be left alone but admitted that he was proud that the fans did not leave him alone. Wyatt said that he was thankful for it and said that he has done horrible things, but he admits that he will not apologize for what he does. 

– Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Solo Sikoa & Sami Zayn was backstage celebrating injuring Sheamus and Sikoa’s win. Jey told Zayn to confront Logan Paul, but Zayn said that WWE Universal Champion to not confront Paul to prevent mind games. Jey & Jimmy agreed with it ironically before Jey said that they would have to see by the end of the night. 

Liv Morgan vs. Sonya Deville.

Deville & Morgan locked up before Deville leaned Morgan into the corner. Deville pushed Morgan to the floor, but Morgan rolled up Deville for a near fall. Deville hit a shoulder tackle on Morgan. Morgan evaded Deville’s offense before hitting a shotgun dropkick on Deville for a near fall. Morgan hit a back-stabber on Deville. Morgan went for a backslide on Deville, but Deville rolled out of it and hit a lifting knee strike on Morgan for a near fall. Deville slammed Morgan’s head to the top turnbuckle before slamming Morgan’s head into the other corner, but Morgan was smiling from the pain. Morgan hit a pump kick on Deville. Morgan went for the Oblivion on Deville, but Deville evaded and hit a pump-kick on Morgan to send her to the outside before the commercial break. Back from the break, Deville got Morgan in a chinlock but Morgan broke the hold and hit a back elbow and a kick on Deville. Morgan hit an enziguri kick on Deville before hitting an elevated knee and went for a middle turnbuckle move, but Deville caught her with a knee strike on Morgan for a near fall. Deville hit three kicks to Morgan’s chest, but Morgan asked for more Deville hit a fourth kick to Morgan’s chest for a near fall, with Morgan laughing away the pain. Morgan demanded Deville hit her, to which Morgan responded with Shibata Slaps before Morgan hit a double leg takedown on Deville. Morgan bounced Deville on the broadcast table and slammed her onto the barricade before slamming her head onto the stairs, ending the match in a double count out.

Result: No Contest (Double Count Out).

– Morgan got a whole bunch of chairs to the ring before Morgan hit a Superplex on Deville onto the stack of chairs. Morgan laughed at the pain and stared daggers at Deville’s prone body after the impact before hugging a chair, for some random reason. 

– There was a video vignette highlighting LA Knight, including his run in NXT.

– There was a video vignette promoting the return of The Viking Raiders and a mysterious figure that stated “Vahalla Awaits”.

– Braun Strowman came to the ring to confront Omos Face-to-face. He got the microphone and said that he is not someone that is easy to miss. Strowman told MVP to bring Omos to the ring to confront him in the ring. MVP walked down the ramp and said that he never referred to Strowman as anything other than a Monster Among Men. Strowman said that he had always been the biggest man in the ring before being confronted by Omos and his 7’3 height. MVP told Strowman to stay away from Omos before saying that he will be exposed. Strowman called MVP’s bluff and challenged Omos to a match at Crown Jewel. Oms came to the ring to confront Strowman after his challenge before pushing him out of the ring. Strowman was impressed as MVP and Omos got out of the ring. 

– Kayla Braxton interviewed Drew McIntyre backstage, with McIntyre saying that Karrion Kross pushed him past his breaking point. McIntyre revealed that if he and Kross laid hands that there would be huge consequences. Mcintyre then revealed that he and Kross will have a Steel Cage Match on Crown Jewel on 11/5/2022.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match.

Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai & Iyo Sky) (c) (w/ Bayley) vs. Raquel Rodriguez & Shotzi.

Sky & Raquel began the match before Sky smacked Raquel before she hit a victory roll into a double-stomp on Raquel. Kai kicked Raquel in the head for a near fall. Raquel caught Kai in the Brock Lock before Shotzi got Kai and hit a neck breaker on Kai for a near fall. Shotzi hit a running senton on Kai in the head. Shotzi went for a top rope move on Kai, but Sky pulled Kai out of the ring. Raquel launched Sky onto Kai before getting in the ring. Shotzi hit a cross body off Raquel’s shoulders onto Kai & Sky. Raquel got a near fall on Kai. Raquel and Shotzi hit a Shotgun Dropkick Doomsday Device on Kai for a near fall. Raquel hit corner spears on Kai before Shotzi hit a running back elbow on Kai in the corner for a near fall. Shotzi hit a leaping elbow drop on Kia for a near fall. Kai hit a chin breaker on Shotzi. Sky did the blind tag before Sky hit a springboard Shotgun Dropkick on Shotzi before the commercial break. Back from the break, Sky & Kai were kicked and punched by Shotzi before Shotzi tossed Kai out of the ring and tagged in Raquel. Raquel hti lariats on Sky & Kai before hitting a Fall-Away slam on Sky and a Fall-Away slam on Kai. Raquel went for a deadlift Suplex on Sky, but Kai went for a powerbomb but Shotzi hit a senton on Kia. Sky dropped Raquel off the top rope before Sky hit a Tornado DDT on Raquel for a near fall. Sky went for a Moonsault, but Raquel evaded and hit a wicked lariat on Sky. Raquel and Shotzi hit an assisted sliced bread on Sky for a near fall, thanks to Raquel tossing Kai onto Shotzi. Bayley distracted Shotzi before Sky hit the Air-Raid Crash & the Top-Rope Moonsault on Shotzi for the pinfall win and title retention. 

Winners: Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai & Iyo Sky) (c) (w/ Bayley).

Kayla Braxton interviewed SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey backstage. Rousey said that she issues Open Challenges because she wants to prove she is the best and said that she does not do stuff for the fans. Rousey said that there would be an Open Challenge for the SmackDown Women’s Championship whenever she feels like it.

– There was a mysterious video with the masked figure that has shown up since Extreme Rules before cutting to a scene of someone saying “HOWDY!”.

– Santos Escobar drank whiskey backstage before introducing Zelina Vega as the latest acquisition to Legado Del Fantasma. Vega said that LDF is head and shoulders above everybody else. Escobar said that they have built a powerful empire before raising a toast. Top Dolla, Ashante “Thee” Adonis & B-Fab watched their segment backstage before B-Fab said that she had an idea.

Rey Mysterio vs. Ludwig Kaiser (w/ Giovanni Vinci & GUNTHER).

The match began with Kaiser and Mysterio locking up before Kaiser leaned Mysterio in the corner and got him in a headlock takedown. Mysterio broke the hold and got Kaiser in a wristlock. Kaiser took down Mysterio before hitting him with a running Penalty Kick. Back from the commercial break, Kaiser slammed Mysterio’s face onto the mat. Mysterio climbed to the top rope, but Kaiser punched Mysterio in the head. Kaiser went for a superplex, but Mysterio hit a headbutt on Kaiser before hitting atop-rope senton on Kaiser. Mysterio hit a springboard cross-body on Kaiser for a near fall. Mysterio kicked Kaiser’s head before hitting a Lionsault on Kaiser for a near fall. Mysterio laid in the punches on Kaiser from the middle rope before giving a brief tribute of to Eddie Guerrero. Kaiser went for a powerbomb on Mysterio, but Mysterio turned it into a Hurricanrana to send him to the outside. Mysterio went for a running senton on Kaiser, but Kaiser evaded, and Mysterio’s offense. Mysterio tossed a chair at GUNTHER before pretending to be hit by the chair, which made the referee kick GUNTHER out of the match. Mysterio went for a splash off the top rope on Kaiser, but Kaiser lifted his knees and got Mysterio in an Inside Cradle for a near fall. Mysterio hit the tijeras on Kaiser into the middle rope before connecting the 619 & the Springboard Splash on Kaiser for the pinfall win.

Winner: Rey Mysterio.

– Logan Paul came to the ring to cut a promo. Paul said that he knows the audience doubts him, but he did not mind because he has been doubted all his life. Paul proceeded to run down The Bloodline saying that he strives to be the best. Paul asked what would happen if he punched Reigns so badly he would send him with his tribe. Jey Uso attacked Paul from behind before laying in the punches on Paul. Jey uso hit a superkick and a vicious Hip Attack on Paul before taunting the crowd. Zayn came to the apron and told Jey to get out of the ring. Jey ignored Zayn’s instructions and punched Jey in the head. Paul walked down the ramp as a distressed Zayn looked at Jey before the end of the broadcast.
