WWE Shareholder Lawsuit Against Vince McMahon Has Been Dropped And Dismissed

One lawsuit has been dropped.

Bloomberg reports that WWE shareholders have agreed to drop its lawsuit against Vince McMahon, saying their claims became moot when McMahon agreed in late March to repay $17.4 million the company wracked up investigating him. The judge in the case granted the dismissal.

Counsel for the WWE investors indicated they plan to seek a “mootness fee” as a reward for their role in forcing McMahon’s hand.

WWE launched an investigation against McMahon over alleged sexual harassment and hush money claims.

The $17.4 million payment covered the cost of the investigation, not the money McMahon allegedly paid his accusers in 2007, which was nearly $20 million.

WWE and McMahon still have the lawsuit filed by Britney Abrahams over racial discrimination and wrongful termination against them.
