WWE RAW Results for 1/25/21 The Last Stop Before the Royal Rumble This Sunday Night
It’s the final edition of WWE RAW before the Royal Rumble This Sunday night at 8pm EST on USA!
Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight’s edition of WWE RAW!
– We open tonight’s show with the entrance of the WWE champion Drew McIntyre who comes out to the ring and thanks the WWE Universe for supporting him during his bout with COVID-19. Drew dedicates his match Sunday to everyone dealing with COVID before talking about defending his title against Goldberg. Drew is interrupted by The Miz and John Morrison where Miz says that he and Goldberg could end up injured and he could capitalize and cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase. Goldberg then comes out to the ring and he and Drew lay out Miz and Morrison before facing off in the center of the ring before Goldberg leaves and Drew tosses the briefcase out of the ring.
– We get a graphic for Asuka defending her RAW Women’s Championship against Alexa Bliss later tonight as well as a graphic for Charlotte Flair taking on Shayna Baszler which is up next as we go to commercial.
– We come back to a backstage interview with Charlotte Flair and Shayna Baszler ahead of their match up next as we go to the ring for our opening match.
Charlotte Flair vs Shayna Baszler (w/ Nia Jax)
They lock up before Charlotte hits Nia with a baseball slide from ringside before Charlotte locks in the Figure Eight that Nia breaks up for the disqualification.
Winner: Charlotte Flair defeats Shayna Baszler via disqualification.
– After the match Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke come out to help Charlotte before Lacey Evans shows up as we go to commercial with the six women brawling.
Six-Woman Tag Team Match
Lacey and Mandy start the match off by exchanging wrist locks before Mandy takes Lacey down onto the mat with a side headlock take over. Dana comes in and takes control before Lacey scrambles away when Charlotte tags in and flees to the corner to tag in Shayna. Shayna lays into Charlotte with punches in the corner before Charlotte chops her and hits a fall away slam before they end up at ringside. Charlotte, Mandy, and fans then win the match via count out when Shayna can’t get back into the ring in time.
Winner: Charlotte Flair, Dana Brooke, and Mandy Rose defeat Shayna Baszler, Nia Jax, and Lacey Evans via count out.
Six-Woman Tag Team Match
The match is restarted after what appears to be a botched finish with Nia taking control of Dana before she gets the hot tag to Mandy. Everyone hits a move before Nia goes shoulder first into the post as Charlotte chases Lacey away from the ring before Nia sends Dana off of the top. Nia then finishes Dana with a chokeslam into running leg drop for the pin and the win.
Winner: Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, and Lacey Evans defeat Dana Brooke, Mandy Rose, and Charlotte Flair via pinfall.
– We get a taped promo by Ali who talks about why Retribution targeted Kofi Kingston ahead of SLAPJACK’s match against Xavier Woods up next as we go to commercial.
SLAPJACK (w/ Retribution) vs Xavier Woods
Xavier goes right after SLAPJACK and hits a flurry of high paced moves before SLAPJACK his a slingshot clothesline for two. Xavier chops SLAPJACK and hits a side Russian leg sweep into a rolling clothesline for two before he’s distracted by T-Bar. Xavier then pins SLAPJACK with a shining wizard when he’s ready for SLAPJACK who was going to capitalize on the distraction.
Winner: Xavier Woods defeats SLAPJACK via pinfall.
– Retribution attack and lay Xavier out after the match before Ali tells Xavier to tell Kofi that he’s going to take his spot in the Royal Rumble match.
– Backstage R-Truth talks to Riddle about how he thinks that The Hurt Business got him twenty four gold carrots for his birthday as we go to commercial.
– We come back from the break to the Hurt Business making their way out to the ring for tonight’s edition of the VIP Lounge before MVP tells Cedric to focus tonight. The various members talk about how much THB have won since the group formed and everyone give MVP a THB gold chain. R-Truth shows up and crashes the festivities by thinking that they’re giving him a birthday party. Everyone then come out and chase Truth for his 24/7 title. Shelton then takes out several Superstars before Riddle shows up and hits MVP with a Final Flash knee before escaping as we go to commercial.
– We come back to Adam Pearce backstage where he runs into R-Truth hiding before Truth says that he’s going to win the Money in the Bank ladder match. AJ Styles and Omos then show up before Adam makes a match between R-Truth and AJ.
– We get a recap of our opening segment earlier tonight in which Drew and Goldberg faced off and dispatched of The Miz and John Morrison.
Sheamus vs John Morrison (w/ The Miz)
Sheamus backs John to the ropes for a clean break before they grapple on the mat until they exchange roll ups for two before John backs Sheamus into the corner when he locks in a half nelson. John rocks Sheamus with kicks before Sheamus hits a back drop into kicks to the spine and punches to the gut. John comes back with a flurry of kicks before Sheamus hits the Irish Curse backbreaker for two before going up top and John kicks his knee in midair. John knees Sheamus through the ropes and focuses on his now injured leg before Sheamus comes back with a clothesline in the corner. Sheamus tosses John across the ring before John hitting a uranage for a near fall before locking in a Cloverleaf before John gets to the ropes for the break.
John then snaps the neck of Sheamus across the top rope before Sheamus rocks John on the apron and finishes him with White Noise for the pin and the win.
Winner: Sheamus defeats John Morrison via pinfall.
– After the match Miz immediately challenges Sheamus to a two on one handicap match as we go to commercial.
Sheamus vs The Miz & John Morrison
The Miz and John brawl with Sheamus before Sheamus sends John out of the ring and Miz hits Sheamus with a DDT before they hit several double team movies for two. Miz and Morrison stomp and choke Sheamus in the corner before sending him through the ropes and John takes out Sheamus with a corkscrew cross body over the top. Miz and Morrison send Sheamus into the barricade before sending him back inside and John superkicks Sheamus before he and Miz stomp and choke Sheamus. Sheamus sends John out of the ring before clotheslining Miz and slamming Miz and Morrison before hitting them with clubbing blows in the ropes. Sheamus hits a diving double clothesline onto Miz and Morrison at ringside before tossing Miz back inside before taking out John with a Brogue Kick.
Miz then capitalizes on Sheamus busy with John and comes up behind him before hitting the Skull Crushing Finale for the pin and the win.
Winner: The Miz and John Morrison defeat Sheamus via pinfall.
– Backstage Ric Flair is teaching Lacey Evans how to escape several holds before Charlotte walks up and Lacey leaves before Charlotte and Ric talk. Charlotte tells Ric that he’s going from legend to old man and that she’s not the bad guy before Lacey drops her with the Woman’s Right and stomps Charlotte. Lacey and Ric then leave Charlotte on the ground as we go to commercial.
AJ Styles (w/ Omos) vs R-Truth
AJ whips R into the corner before they exchange strikes until AJ starts focusing on the left leg of R to set up the Calf Crusher before E ducks a Phenomenal Forearm. R then slams AJ before hitting a Five Knuckle Shuffle before AJ counters the Attitude Adjustment into the Calf Crusher for the tap and the win.
Winner: AJ Styles defeats R-Truth via submission.
– We get a recap of masked Randy Orton’s promo last week before we go to the ring for this week’s edition of Alexa’s Playground ahead of her challenging Asuka for the RAW Women’s Championship. Alexa shows a recap of her defeating Asuka in a non-title match as well as her intimidating Asuka and scaring her when Asuka was on last week’s Alexa’s Playground.
Gauntlet Match
Riddle kicks the match off with Shelton by rocking him with kicks and forearms in the corner before countering a German suplex before Shelton counters the Final Flash. Shelton hits a spine buster for two before placing Riddle across the top turnbuckle and kneeing him in the ribs as the rest of THB look on at ringside. Shelton locks in a rear chin lock before Riddle gets to his feet and Shelton distracts the referee when Shelton rolls Riddle up. Riddle then pins Shelton with a sunset flip before MVP and Cedric argue at ringside. Riddle and MVP start with Riddle immediately eliminating MVP with a heel hook before Cedric comes in as we go to commercial.
We come back to Cedric kneeing Riddle in the ribs before hitting a snap mare for one before hitting a running knee to the midsection. Cedric hits a gut buster for two before Riddle comes back with kicks and a running forearm in the corner before Cedric dropkicks Riddle for two. Cedric locks in an abdominal stretch before Riddle gets to the ropes for the break before Riddle elbows his way out of a waist lock by Cedric. Cedric counters the Bro to Sleep into a DDT for a near fall before locking in a rear chin lock before Riddle gets to his feet and hits a Pele kick. Riddle hits running forearms in the corner before hitting a fall away slam before Cedric gets his knees up when Riddle goes for a senton.
Riddle hits a German suplex before Cedric hits a brain buster for a near fall before Riddle locks in a triangle choke before Cedric powerbombs his way free. Riddle then reapplies the hold before Cedric powers to his feet and pins Cedric for the win.
Winner: Riddle wins the gauntlet to earn an opportunity at Bobby Lashley and his United States Championship.
– Bobby comes out and attacks Riddle after the match before leaving him lying after rag dolling him with the Hurt Lock.
– We get a graphic for Edge who will be making his return to RAW after seven months as we go to commercial.
– We come back to a taped promo by Edge who talks about his match against Randy Orton at Summerslam as well as his returning to the Royal Rumble last January. Edge says that he’s going to do his best to win this years Rumble and make his dream of main eventing Wrestlemania come true.
WWE RAW Women’s Championship Match
Asuka (c) vs Alexa Bliss
Asuka tosses Alexa across the ring by her hair before taking her down with a straight armbar before hitting a missile dropkick before Alexa kicks her through the ropes. Alexa then rides on her rocking horse as we go to commercial.
We come back to Asuka in control of Alexa in the corner before missing a missile dropkick and Alexa dropkicks her for two. Alexa smashes Asuka’s face into the top turnbuckle before locking in a rear chin lock before slamming Asuka’s head into the mat for two. Alexa reapplies the rear chin lock before Asuka comes back with a roundhouse kick and a knee into a running hip attack in the corner. Asuka hits German suplex into a sliding kick for two before Alexa turns into her normal self and side steps Asuka. The lights go out and com back on with Alexa in all black before Alexa counters the Asuka Lock and locks in the Mandible Claw.
A burned Randy Orton then appears out of nowhere and hits Alexa with an RKO as the referee has disappeared.
Winner: Alexa Bliss defeats Asuka via disqualification, but Asuka retains due to champions advantage.
