WWE Raw Results For 9/4: A Steel Cage Match, The WWE Intercontinental Title Is Defended & Nia Jax – Emma Take Advantage Of An Opportunity

The show starts off with highlights from last week’s contract signing between John Cena and Roman Reigns.
John Cena vs. Jason Jordan
The match begins with Jordan getting a near fall after tripping Cena up, Jordan scores another takedown and rolls up Cena for another two count. Jordan scores another takedown on Cena and he control him with a waist lock, Cena gets up and Jordan take him back to the ground. Cena breaks free after catching Jordan with a hip toss, Jordan takes Cena back down and he control him against with a waist lock. Cena breaks free and he drops Jordan with a few strikes, Cena drops Jordan and locks him in a chin lock. Jordan breaks free and Cena drops him with more strikes and a suplex, Cena then hurts Jordan with a hard Irish whip into the corner as we go to a commercial break.
We return from the break to see the two competitors exchanging blows, Jordan then takes Cena out with a belly to belly suplex. Cena recovers and he drops Jordan with a pair of shoulder tackles, Jordan pops back up and immediately drops Cena with a drop kick. Cena and Jordan get up to exchange more blows in the middle of the ring, Cena catches Jordan with a roll up for a near fall. Cena then drops Jordan with a back suplex before landing a Five Knuckle Shuffle, Cena goes for the Attitude Adjustment and rolls through for a near fall. Cena catches Jordan in the STF and Jordan escapes to lock Cena in the cross face, Cena powers out and he goes for an Attitude Adjustment.
Jordan escapes Cena’s grip and he nails him with a pair of northern lights suplexes for another near fall, Jordan then hits Cena with a spear in the corner. Jordan goes for his finisher and Cena rolls through for a near fall, Cena catches Jordan with an Attitude Adjustment for a three count.
Winner: John Cena
After the match, Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring and we go to a commercial break.
We return from the break to see Roman Reigns on the microphone, saying he either buried another talent or he isn’t as good as he used to be. Cena grabs a microphone and he insults Reigns for attempting to be a smart ass, Cena says he will get the answers to any questions he has shortly. Reigns and Cena exchange a bunch of dick jokes, Cena says that Reigns is going to be getting beaten at WWE No Mercy.
Cena says that Reigns is a “Golden Boy” who needs to be taught a lesson in respect, Cena says a lot of other wrestlers have earned his respect for clawing their way to the top. Cena says he has no respect for Reigns, Cena also says he will beat some sense into him at WWE No Mercy. Reigns challenges Cena to beat some sense into him and back up his big mouth, Cena doesn’t come forward and Reigns says he doesn’t respect him before leaving the ring.
WWE Raw Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose join the announce team for the next match.
Cesaro & Sheamus vs. Rhyno & Heath Slater
The match begins with Slater rolling a distracted Cesaro up for a near fall, Cesaro recovers and quickly drops Slater before tagging Sheamus in. Sheamus traps Slater in the corner before stomping away on him, Cesaro tags back in and he catches Slater with a side kick for a near fall. Cesaro wrenches away on the arm of Slater while staring the tag champs down, Slater breaks free and drops Cesaro with a leg lariat. Rhyno tags in and he immediately cleans house on the opposing team, Rhyno then hits Sheamus with a TKO for a near fall. Slater hits the ring and Cesaro sends him back out, Rhyno then sends a charging Cesaro out of the ring. Sheamus would then hit Rhyno with the Brogue Kick for the three count.
Winners: Sheamus & Cesaro
Booker T provides an update on the recovery efforts for Hurricane Harvey and thanks the WWE Universe for their support.
Renee Young interviews The Hardy Boyz, Matt says that it is a wonderful evening for a new WWE Intercontinental Champion and Jeff says that his daughter may see him win the title tonight. Matt says if The Miztourage tries interfering, then he will take care of them.
WWE Intercontinental Title Match
The Miz (Champion) w/The Miztourage vs. Jeff Hardy w/Matt Hardy
The match begins with Jeff catching Miz with a roll up for a near fall, Jeff then drops Miz with a shoulder tackle before getting another roll up for a near fall. Miz recovers and he throws Jeff out of the ring, Jeff returns to the ring and he knocks Miz out of it as we go to a commercial break. We return from the break to see Miz holding Jeff in a chin lock, Jeff breaks free and he nails Miz with a few strikes. Jeff then rebounds off the ropes to hit Miz with a flying forearm followed by a falcon arrow for a near fall, Jeff then hits Miz with the Whisper In The Wind for a near fall.
Jeff goes back to the top rope and Bo Dallas distracts the referee as Curtis Axel trips up Jeff, Matt brawls with The Miztourage until all three are ejected from the ring by the referee. Jeff then catches a distracted Miz with a few roll ups for some near falls, Jeff drops Miz again and then his leg drop is countered by Miz. Miz then nails Jeff with a DDT for a near fall, Jeff recovers and catches Miz with another roll up for a near fall. Miz gets trapped in the corner and he nails a leaping Jeff with a pair of boots to the midsection, Miz then hits Jeff with a running knee strike for a near fall.
Miz then attacks a downed Jeff with the It Kicks, Jeff recovers by knocking Miz into the corner with a mule kick followed by a springboard double stomp for a near fall. Miz falls to the arena floor and then he sends a charging Jeff to the arena floor, Miz throws Jeff back into the ring for a near fall. Miz quickly locks Jeff in the figure four leg lock and Jeff eventually gets to the ropes, Jeff recovers and he catches Miz with a stunner for a near fall. Miz rolls out of the ring and Jeff kicks him to the ground below, Jeff catches Miz with a springboard leg lariat off the ring steps.
Jeff throws Miz back into the ring before going to the top rope, Jeff goes for the swanton bomb and Maryse helps Miz get out of the way. Miz catches Jeff with the Skull Crushing Finale for the three count.

Highlights from Alexa Bliss winning the WWE Raw Women’s Title on last week’s Raw air.
Raw GM Kurt Angle is checking his phone backstage when Nia Jax walks in demanding an explanation for why she isn’t getting a title shot next. Jax says that she can feel the Raw women’s division trembling before her, Emma walks in and says social media isn’t talking about her right now. Angle gets in between both women as they start to get physical, Angle makes a tag match tonight pitting Jax & Emma against Alexa Bliss & Sasha Banks.
A highlight package airs showing the last that Braun Strowman & Big Show faced each other on WWE Raw.
Before the next match, Enzo Amore cuts a promo about his upcoming opponents and we go to a commercial break.
Noam Dar, Drew Gulak & Tony Nese vs. Enzo Amore, Cedric Alexander & Gran Metalik
The match began during the commercial break and we see Alexander dropping Nese with a head scissors followed by a drop kick, Amore tags in and he holds Nese in a headlock. Nese recovers and he drops Amore neck first on the top turnbuckle, Gulak tags in and he bends the arms of Amore in unnatural ways. Amore breaks free and Gulak nails him with a running kick, Dar tags in and he locks Amore in a modified single leg crab. Nese tags back in and he locks Amore in the torture rack, Nese corners Amore before nailing him with a running shoulder tackle.
Amore recovers by dropping all three of his opponents on the arena floor, Alexander tags in and he immediately nails Gulak with some clotheslines. Alexander then catches Gulak with a handspring enzaguri for a near fall, Metalik knocks an interfering Nese and Dar out of the ring, Metalik and Alexander take out Dar and Nese with suicide dives. Amore tags in and nails Gulak with Eat Defeat for the three count.
Winners: Enzo Amore, Cedric Alexander & Gran Metalik
Sasha Banks is getting ready in the locker room when Alexa Bliss arrives, Bliss complains about the tag match tonight and they agree that they do not want anybody else in their title match. They have a shouting match before Banks leaves the scene.
Finn Balor is shown walking backstage.
Finn Balor makes his way to the ring and he has a microphone in hand, Balor says that Omaha is part of the Balor Club. Balor talks about holding the WWE NXT Title and the WWE Universal Title, then talks about how Bray Wyatt cost him a shot at the WWE Intercontinental Title. Balor says he is going to be ready for Wyatt the next time he sees him, Balor says he isn’t afraid and he won’t run. Wyatt appears on the big screen and he talks about the first time he went hunting, Wyatt talks about using his hands to judge people. Wyatt says it was The Demon who was successful at WWE Summerslam and not Balor himself, Wyatt says that Balor must prove himself against him at WWE No Mercy.
Nia Jax & Emma Get In WWE Raw Women’s Title Match At WWE No Mercy With A Win
Alexa Bliss & Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax & Emma
The match begins with after the commercial break and we see Jax backing Banks into the corner before tossing her across the ring, Banks fights back before a failed arm drag attempt. Jax slams Banks and Emma tags in to get a near fall on Banks, Emma traps Banks in the corner before mauling her with strikes. Emma drops Banks before catching her with a drop kick for a near fall, Banks catches Emma with a roll up for a near fall. Banks and Emma exchange roll ups until Emma drops her with a clothesline, Emma slows things down by holding Banks in the full nelson.
Banks breaks free and she drops Emma with a suplex, Bliss tags in and she immediately attacks Emma with strikes. Emma slows down Bliss and Bliss blocks her from tagging Jax in, Banks tags back in and she mauls Emma with strikes in the corner. Banks drops Emma before catching her with a double knee strike for a near fall, Banks bends the arms of Emma in unnatural ways. Banks releases the hold to attack Emma with more strikes in the corner, Bliss tags in and she works with banks to hit Emma with a double suplex for a near fall. Bliss brings Emma to the rope before she starts choking her, Bliss again traps Emma in the corner before landing more strikes.
Bliss slows things down further when she holds Emma in the chin lock, Bliss shoves Emma to the ground before going to the top rope. Emma rolls out of the way before catching Bliss with a jaw breaker, Jax tags in and Bliss quickly slaps her in the face. Jax gets angry and she clobbers her with a short arm clothesline, Jax then tosses Bliss across the ring before landing some elbow strikes. Jax catches Bliss with a Samoan drop for a near fall, Bliss recovers and she kicks Jax in the face before tagging Banks in. Jax misses the butt drop and Banks nails her with a shining wizard for a near fall, Banks goes for the Bank Statement and Jax crushes her in response.
Jax catches Banks with a leg drop as Emma tags in, Emma gets the sneaky pin for the three count.
Winners: Nia Jax & Emma, who are in the WWE Raw Women’s Title Match at WWE No Mercy
After the match, Nia Jax lays out Emma with a Samoan drop.
Renee Young interviews Braun Strowman, who says Kurt Angle is out of his mind for putting him in a steel cage with the Big Show tonight. Strowman promises to destroy Show tonight in their match, Strowman says he will send a message tonight to Kurt Angle to Big Show to Brock Lesnar.
Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose are shown walking backstage as Elias plays his guitar.
Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson are in the ring arguing with Sheamus & Cesaro as Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins make their way to the ring.
Non-Title Match
Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins (WWE Raw Tag Team Champions) vs. The Club (Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson)
The match begins with Rollins trapping Anderson in the corner while stomping away on him, Anderson fights back and he drops Rollins with a shoulder tackle. Rollins gets back up and he drops Anderson before tagging Ambrose in, Rollins and Ambrose nail Anderson with some double team moves. Ambrose attacks Anderson with chops while trapping him in the corner, Ambrose then hits Anderson with a diving elbow strike for a near fall. Rollins tags in and Anderson quickly tags Gallows in as well, Ambrose tags in and eats some strikes from Gallows. Rollins tags back in and he works with Ambrose to double team Gallows, The Club roll outside the ring before Rollins and Ambrose catch them with dives as we go to a commercial break.
We return to see Gallows holding Ambrose in a chin lock, Ambrose breaks free and Gallows nails him with a sit out power bomb for a near fall. Anderson tags in and he mauls Ambrose with strikes in the corner, Anderson then pops Ambrose with some knee drops. Anderson slows things down a little bit by holding Ambrose in a chin lock, Anderson decides to just drop Ambrose for a near fall. Gallows tags back in and he nails Ambrose with an avalanche in the corner, Anderson tags in and gets a near fall on Ambrose. Anderson places Ambrose on the top rope and he follows him up there, Ambrose knocks Anderson off the ropes and Gallows tags in.
Gallows catches a leaping Ambrose before eating a drop kick, Ambrose then drops Gallows with a Lunatic Lariat. Rollins tags in and he cleans house on the opposing team, Rollins nails Anderson with a blockbuster before catching Gallows with a suicide dive. Rollins would also catch Anderson with the sling blade, Gallows tries interfering and Ambrose takes him out with a suicide dive. Sheamus & Cesaro try interfering in the match, Rollins throws Anderson into Sheamus before rolling him up for a three count.
Winners: Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins
After the match, The Club attack Sheamus & Cesaro before a huge brawl breaks out between the two teams.
Enzo Amore is celebrating with Cedric Alexander & Gran Metalik in the locker room when Neville arrives while clapping. Neville says that there is going to be a five way elimination match tomorrow night on 205 Live, with the winner getting a WWE Cruiserweight Title shot at WWE No Mercy.
Renee Young interviews Big Show, who says that Braun Strowman is the most dangerous opponent he has ever faced, but then says his experience in cage matches will get him the win tonight.
Steel Cage Match
Big Show vs. Braun Strowman
The match begins with Strowman kicking Show right in the face, Strowman then smashes Show into the cage wall before crushing him with a few avalanches. Show recovers and drops a charging Strowman with a right as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see both competitors down on the mat. Strowman gets up and he crashes into the corner after missing a charge at Show, Show then send Strowman into the cage wall a few times. Show starts climbing the cage and Strowman follows him up there, the two exchange blows until Show gets crotched on the top rope.
Show recovers and he crotches Strowman on the top rope, Show goes back to the top rope and he kicks Strowman in the face a few times. Show crushes Strowman with a top rope elbow drop for a near fall, Show climbs towards the cage door and Strowman smashes the door into his head. Strowman tries escaping and Show smashes the door into his head, Show then drops Strowman with a shoulder block. Show goes for the choke slam and Strowman counters with a DDT for a near fall, the wrestlers have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring.
Show catches Strowman with a choke slam from out of nowhere for a near fall, Show misses the punch and he then sends a charging Strowman into the cage wall. Show tries climbing out of the cage and Strowman meets him up on the top rope, Show smashes the head of Strowman into the cage wall to knock him off the ropes. Strowman pulls Show down before pancaking him into the cage wall, Show goes back to the top rope and Strowman meets him up there. Show knocks Strowman down and Strowman gets back up to meet him back on the top rope, Strowman then catches Show with a superplex. Strowman then hits Show with a power slam for the three count.
Winner: Braun Strowman
After the match, Braun Strowman grabs the microphone to say he will destroy Brock Lesnar at WWE No Mercy. Strowman then picks up Show and throws him through the cage wall.
