WWE RAW (8/7/23) Results: WWE SummerSlam Fallout; Michael Cole And Wade Barrett Call The Action
WWE hosted its latest episode of Monday Night Raw on August 7, 2023. The episode features the fallout of WWE SummerSlam as Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, the members of Judgment Day, and more all press forward now that the biggest party of the summer has come to a close.

WWE Raw (8/7/23) Results
– SummerSlam highlights play.
– Cody Rhodes kicks us off. Cody Rhodes talks about SummerSlam. He says what Brock Lesnar did at the end of their match surprised him, and his mother told him he needed to realize that Brock Lesnar “acknowledged” him. Cody said he feels like he’s on top of the world and can beat anybody. This brings out Seth Rollins. Rollins says Cody interrupted him after WWE Money in the Bank, and he is returning the favor. He challenges him to a match tonight. Three of the four members of Judgment Day came out, with Finn Balor being the exception.
Damian Priest tells Cody that Dominik is the real workhorse, and he will be defending his NXT North American Title tomorrow night on NXT. Dominik tries to talk and gets booed immediately. Finn Balor comes from behind and attacks Rollins and Cody. Sami Zayn comes out to even the odds. Cody suggests a six-man tag between the six of them. Seth appears perplexed and gets in Cody’s face about offering his services for the match.
– Michael Cole announces the first hour will be commercial-free.
– A recap shows Gunther beating Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam and Adam Pearce booking a Fatal 4-Way Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender Match between Chad Gable, Ricochet, Matt Riddle, and Tommaso Ciampa which begins immediately after the clip airs.
* Fatal 4-Way Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender Match: Chad Gable def. Ricochet, Matt Riddle, and Tommaso Ciampa. Gable pinned Ciampa after hitting Chaos Theory. Gable celebrated with his young son, who was in the crowd, after the match.
– Sami Zayn, Cody Rhodes, and Seth Rollins have a meeting backstage. Rollins says he doesn’t want to team with Rhodes. Zayn wants them to get past their issues. Both men say they are cool but walk away from one another.
– A video recaps Tribal Combat between Jey Uso and Roman Reigns from WWE SummerSlam.
– Backstage, The Miz must postpone his photoshoot due to an ongoing photoshoot session for LA Knight. He is not thrilled about it. There’s no explanation as to why major SmackDown Superstar LA Knight is on Raw.
* Shinsuke Nakamura def. “Big” Bronson Reed
– In a clip from “earlier today,” medical personnel informed Adam Pearce that Raquel Rodriguez is still not cleared to compete. Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae come for her.
– Maxxine Dupri is shown backstage on the phone with Otis when Ludwig Kaiser arrives on the scene and hits on her. She slaps him after he insults Otis, and when he turns around, Otis is now in front of him, and he challenges Kaiser to a match tonight and says he looks forward to seeing both Otis and Maxxine later on.
– Becky Lynch, sporting blonde highlights, comes out to the ring to address Trish Stratus. Becky hypes her match next week with Stratus. Zoey Stark interrupts her and questions Lynch about being banned from ringside next week. Becky says Zoey should be fighting for the championship and that Trish Stratus is pulling her backward. Stark says that Lynch is jealous of her. Stark says she’s mastered the game and this brings out Shayna Baszler.
– Baszler is sporting a shiner from the fight on Saturday. She brags about getting Ronda Rousey out of WWE and receives a thank you chant from the audience. She gets in Zoey’s face because Zoey calls herself the baddest. Stark calls her a punching bag. Stark threatens to throw Shayna out of WWE like Shayna threw Rhonda out of WWE. Becky sees what’s going on and wants Adam Pearce to come down and make a match between them official, and he does.
– Finn Balor and Damian Priest have a confrontation backstage, and Rhea Ripley tries to cool tensions. JD McDonagh shows up and says that while it may not be his place to suggest this, it appears the Money in the Bank briefcase is getting in between them, so they should get rid of it.
* Shayna Baszler def. Zoey Stark
– Backstage, Byron Saxton attempts to interview Shinsuke Nakamura. Suddenly, the camera is directed to check out what’s happening beside them, which is JD McDonagh attacking Sami Zayn.
* Ludwig Kaiser def. Otis (w/ Maxxine Dupri) when Giovanni Vinci and Gunther come out. Vinci distracts the referee, and Gunther hits Otis in the head with his boot, allowing Kaiser to hit a jumping enzugiri for the victory.
– After the match, Imperium jumps Gunther until Chad Gable comes out to make the save.
– Backstage, Seth Rollins tells Jackie Redmond that Sami Zayn will not be completed tonight. Shinsuke Nakamura approaches him and offers to be on his team tonight. Seth Rollins accepts.
– – The Miz comes out to the ring and complains about how he was eliminated from the Battle Royal at WWE SummerSlam before is interrupted by LA Knight. The SmackDown Superstar tries to introduce himself to The Miz respectfully. Miz calls him a flash in the pan. They argue over what they’ve done for the last 20 years. LA Knight says he wouldn’t have taken the abuse that The Miz did early in his career. Miz tries to cheap-shot Knight, but Knight drops him with BFT.
– Viking Raiders cut a pre-tape promo challenging anyone to a match. Eventually, The New Day, Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods, return to answer the challenge.
* The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) def. The Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar w/Valhalla)
– Backstage, Byron Saxton tries to interview Becky Lynch. Shayna Baszler interrupts and says that she did not need Becky’s help tonight, but she’s finished with Ronda Rousey, so she’s going to begin settling some old scores and will eventually come looking for “The Man.” Becky says she welcomes it.
– The New Day tells Jackie Redmond that they are back to interject some positivity into the tag team division because Street Profits have gone rogue, and The Usos have turned on each other.
– The Judgment Day makes its entrance for the main event. Raquel Rodriguez attacked Rhea Ripley. They get into a brawl, and a bunch of officials, as well as Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell, come out to stop the brawl. Candice and Ripley end up getting into it. By the time the show is back from commercial, Ripley remains at ringside.
* Cody Rhodes, Shinsuke Nakamura & Seth Rollins def. Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor & Damian Priest w/ Rhea Ripley)
– Sami Zayn had come out with his elbow taped up to help lead the babyfaces to victory. After the match, Shinsuke Nakamura turned on Seth Rollins, and laid him out.
