WWE Raw 8/10/20 Results: Randy Orton Attacks, Asuka Fights For A Title Shot & Mickie James Returns

– The show starts off with an “In Memorial” graphic for the late Kamala.
– Samoa Joe is in the ring for the contract signing between Seth Rollins and Dominik Mysterio, Rollins comes to the ring first with Murphy at his side. Mysterio makes his way to the ring next and he comes out with a kendo stick, Rollins gets the microphone and he questions why Mysterio brought the kendo stick out. Joe takes the kendo stick from Mysterio before verbally assaulting Rollins, Rollins says that Mysterio and his dad made the wrong decisions multiple times during their rivalry. Rollins says he had no choice during the feud with the Mysterio Family, Rollins says he tried to be the good guy and everybody crapped on him. Rollins wonders when enough will be enough and Mysterio says it will never be enough, Mysterio says Rollins turned good men into something worse. Rollins takes credit for Dominik wanting to become a pro wrestler in the first place, Mysterio says his new dream is to kick Rollins’ ass at WWE Summerslam ’20. Rollins says that Mysterio couldn’t last ten seconds with him in a regular wrestling match, Rollins says that Mysterio can use all the weapons he wants at WWE Summerslam ’20 so he has no excuses for losing.
Mysterio signs the contracts and Rollins congratulates him, Rollins signs as well before Humberto Carrillo comes to the ring for their match.
Seth Rollins w/Murphy vs. Humberto Carrillo
The match begins with Carrillo and Rollins locking up before Rollins corners Carrillo before landing a few strikes, Rollins holds Carrillo down while wrenching away on his arm. Carrillo gets free and he attacks Rollins with strikes, Carrillo then hits Rollins with a clothesline and a Disaster Kick. Rollins leaves the ring and Carrillo follows him out there before getting sent into the barricade, Murphy goes to attack Carrillo and Dominik Mysterio stops him. Carrillo gets back in the ring and he nails Rollins with a spinning head kick, Carrillo corners Rollins before landing more strikes. Rollins crotches Carrillo on the top rope before following him up there, Carrillo knocks Rollins off the ropes and Murphy distracts him. Mysterio attacks Murphy with the kendo stick, Rollins blocks the moonsault from Carrillo before landing a power bomb and The Stomp for a three count.
Winner: Seth Rollins w/Murphy
After the match, Murphy and Seth Rollins attack Dominik Mysterio, Mysterio fights back and he quickly gets overwhelmed. Murphy grabs the kendo stick and he hands it to Rollins, Rollins quickly starts attacking Mysterio with it. Rollins and Murphy attack Mysterio with more kendo stick shots after tying him in the ropes, Murphy gets his own kendo stick and he also attacks Mysterio.
– Highlights are shown of Retributions handywork on last week’s Raw, followed by the damage they did on Smackdown.
– Highlights are shown of Montez Ford’s alleged poisoning by Andrade, Angel Garza and Zelina Vega.
– Zelina Vega gets the microphone before the next match and says she is innocent from allegedly poisoning Montez Ford, Vega says she wouldn’t ruin the opportunities for her associates at WWE Summerslam ’20.
Andrade w/Zelina Vega & Angel Garza vs. Angelo Dawkins
The match begins with Andrade and Dawkins exchanging a bunch of strikes, Andrade gains control and he cracks Dawkins with more strikes before eating a drop kick. Andrade leaves the ring and he stays out there to avoid Dawkins, Andrade trips up Dawkins before getting back in the ring. Andrade quickly starts stomping away on a downed Dawkins, Andrade then hits a downed Dawkins with a basement drop kick. Andrade holds Dawkins down while applying a chin lock to him, Dawkins gets free and he exchanges more strikes with Andrade. Dawkins ends the exchange by nailing Andrade with clotheslines and a leaping back elbow strike, Dawkins then hits Andrade with a suplex. Dawkins misses an avalanche in the corner and Andrade lands a few strikes afterwards, Andrade then hits Dawkins with a running double knee strike for a near fall. Andrade goes to the top rope and Dawkins cracks him with a right as he leaps off, Vega distracts the ref and Bianca Belair attacks her. Dawkins then hits Andrade with a Cash Out for a three count.
Winner: Angelo Dawkins
Bianca Belair w/Angelo Dawkins vs. Zelina Vega w/Andrade & Angel Garza
The match is joined in progress and we see Vega trying to get a sleeper hold on Belair, Belair defends before landing a suplex on Vega. Vega fights back and she cracks Belair with a few strikes, Vega looks for a crucifix before getting Belair in a triangle choke. Belair gets free and she slams Vega face first on the mat below, Belair corners Vega before attacking her with a ton of strikes. Vega recovers and she pokes Belair in the eyes, Vega then hits Belair with a tornado bulldog for a near fall. Vega then pulls the hair of Belair before sending her into the corner, Vega then hits Belair with a head kick and double knee strike for a near fall. Belair avoids a second tornado bulldog and she exchanges elbow strikes with Vega, Vega then sends Belair into the middle rope with a head scissors takedown. Vega goes to the middle rope and Belair catches her when she leaps off to land a press slam, Belair gets angry and she attacks Vega with a ton of strikes. Belair charges at Vega and she crashes into the ring post instead, Vega traps Belair in the corner while landing more strikes. Belair gets out of the corner to hit Vega with a power bomb, Belair then drops Vega face first on the top turnbuckle. Belair then hits Vega with a KOD for a three count.
Winner: Bianca Belair w/Angelo Dawkins
After the match, Charly Caruso interviews Bianca Belair and Angelo Dawkins, Belair says Zelina Vega messed with Montez Ford and she warns her not to do it again. Dawkins says that Ford is going to be back in time for WWE Summerslam ’20.
– Highlights are shown of what went down last week between Apollo Crews and MVP.
– The Hurt Business are shown talking backstage.
– The Hurt Business is in the ring for an edition of The VIP Lounge, MVP says that he told everybody there was a conspiracy taking place and he points to Retribution. MVP says Apollo Crews only beat him due to the technical issues that took place last week, Crews interrupts and he accuses MVP of making excuses every time that he loses. MVP says Crews makes nothing but bad decisions, Crews talks about what MVP doesn’t care about before saying he doesn’t care about The Hurt Business. Crews promises to defeat MVP once against at WWE Summerslam ’20, The Hurt Business goes after Crews and Crews defends himself.
Apollo Crews vs. Shelton Benjamin w/Bobby Lashley & MVP
The match is joined in progress and we see Crews nearly hit Benjamin with a toss power bomb, Benjamin corners Crews before landing a few strikes. Crews gets free and he nails Benjamin with a drop kick, Crews also hits Benjamin with a suplex for a near fall. Benjamin fights back and he nails Crews with a thrust kick followed by a power bomb for a near fall, Benjamin then hits Crews with a neck breaker before tossing him out of the ring. Benjamin goes after Crews and he gets him back in the ring before choking him on the middle rope, Benjamin keeps Crews down while holding him in a chin lock. Crews gets free and Benjamin nails him with a few strikes, Crews recovers and he nails Benjamin with a cross body block. Crews then corners Benjamin before landing shoulder thrusts and an avalanche, Benjamin avoids a toss power bomb and Crews still lands a power bomb followed by a standing moonsault for a near fall. Lashley interferes and Crews attacks him, Benjamin rolls up a distracted Crews for a three count.
Winner: Shelton Benjamin w/MVP & Bobby Lashley
After the match, Bobby Lashley goes to attack Apollo Crews and MVP prevents it before getting attacked by Crews.
– A video airs of Retribution throwing a cinder block through a glass door at the WWE Performance Center.
– Sarah Schreiber interviews Mickie James, who says she is excited to be back and she has gold on her mind. Natalya and Lana interrupt and they call James delusional, Lana says Natalya is a better competitor when compared to James. James says that Natalya has ridden her family’s coattails for long enough before mocking her.
– Highlights of Raw Underground are shown.
– Ivar is backstage talking to some woman when Erik, Cedric Alexander and Ricochet walk by to make sure they are ready for their match.
Ricochet, Cedric Alexander & The Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar) vs. Akira Tozawa & Ninjas
The match begins with Ricochet kicking a ninja in the head, Alexander tags in and he double teams a ninja with Ricochet. Another ninja hits the ring and he gets taken out by Ricochet and Alexander, Erik and Ivar double team another ninja. Tozawa argues with a ninja as The Viking Raiders hit a ninja with The Viking Experience for a three count.
Winners: Ricochet, Cedric Alexander & The Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar)
After the match, a ninja rolls up Akira Tozawa for a three count to win the 24/7 Championship and the ninja is revealed to be R-Truth.
– Charly Caruso interviews Drew McIntyre, who says the reason that Randy Orton hasn’t helped the next generation of wrestlers is due to self-preservation. McIntyre says Orton is afraid to become a thing of the past, McIntyre promises to destroy Orton at WWE Summerslam ’20. McIntyre says he and Kevin Owens will talk about the future of Raw if Owens beats Orton tonight.
Liv Morgan w/Ruby Riott vs. Peyton Royce w/Billie Kay
The match begins with Morgan attacking Royce with a bunch of strikes, Royce recovers and she knocks Morgan out of the ring after landing a knee strike. Royce follows Morgan out there and Morgan fights back against her, Morgan gets Royce back in the ring and Royce lands a spin kick to her head afterwards. Royce keeps Morgan down while attacking her with some strikes, Morgan fights back and both opponents drop each other with head kicks. Kay tries interfering and Riott scares her away, Royce hits a distracted Morgan with Déjà vu for a three count.
Winner: Peyton Royce w/Billie Jay
– Highlights are shown of Shayna Baszler vs. Sasha Banks from last weeks Raw, followed by Asuka attacking Bayley during that match.
– Shane McMahon is backstage and he says it is time for Raw Underground to begin.
– Raw Underground is back as Riddick Moss battles Cal Bloom, Moss eventually wins the fight due to landing unanswered strikes.
If Asuka Wins, She Faces Sasha Banks For The Raw Women’s Title At WWE Summerslam ‘20
Asuka vs. Bayley w/Sasha Banks
The match begins with Asuka immediately attacking Bayley with a drop kick before tossing her across the ring, Asuka then hits Bayley with a hip attack and multiple strikes for a near fall. Bayley leaves the ring and Asuka follows her out there before throwing her into the barricade, Asuka gets Bayley back in the ring and she goes to the top rope before getting crotched by Bayley. Bayley then hits Asuka with an inverted power slam for a near fall, Bayley keeps Asuka down while attacking her with strikes. Bayley follows up by nailing Asuka with a suplex and sliding clothesline for some near falls, Bayley keeps Asuka down while applying a chin lock to her. Bayley releases the hold before nailing Asuka with more strikes, Bayley then hits Asuka with an elbow drop for a near fall. Asuka fights back and she exchanges some roll ups with Bayley, Asuka then cracks Bayley with a knee strike to the face. Asuka follows up by nailing Bayley with a shoulder tackle and release German suplex, Asuka then hits Bayley with a hip attack for a near fall. Bayley catches a leaping Asuka and she sends her into the corner, Bayley misses a charge in the corner and Asuka kicks away at her.
Asuka then hits an elevated Bayley with a stomp for a near fall as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Asuka go to the top rope and land a missile drop kick on Bayley for a near fall. Asuka keeps Bayley down while attacking her with more kicks, Banks jumps on the ring apron and the distraction allows Bayley to get a kicking Asuka in an ankle lock. Asuka eventually gets to the ropes to break the submission hold, Bayley then hits the injured leg of Asuka with a DDT for a near fall. Bayley distracts the ref so banks can attack Asuka’s injured leg, Bayley traps Asuka in the corner while landing some strikes. Asuka fights back and she catches Bayley in the ground octopus stretch, Bayley gets free and Asuka catches her in an arm bar and Bayley rolls her up to escape. Asuka goes for a double knee strike and Bayley defends before getting her in an Indian death lock, Asuka gets free and she gets Bayley in a knee bar. Bayley gets free and Asuka falls on top of her for a near fall, Asuka follows up by nailing Bayley with a code breaker for a near fall. Asuka and Bayley have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Asuka then hits Bayley with a pop up knee strike.
Asuka gets Bayley on the top rope and she follows her up there, Bayley gets Asuka off the ropes and she lands a top rope elbow drop afterwards for a near fall. Bayley follows up by nailing Asuka with a spinning elbow strike and a sunset bomb into the corner, Asuka recovers and she gets a charging Bayley in the Asuka Lock to force a tap out.
Winner: Asuka
– Shane McMahon is back with Raw Underground, as Arturo Ruas faces and defeats an unknown opponent.
– Raw Underground is back and Dabba-Kato faces and defeats an unnamed opponent. Shayna Baszler steps up to Dabba-Kato and Dabba-Kato leaves and Baszler faces a woman she chooses from the crowd, Baszler beats a bunch of women up.
– Retribution is shown destroying a car outside of the WWE Performance Center.
Randy Orton w/Ric Flair vs. Kevin Owens
The match begins with Orton backing Owens into the corner, Owens gets free and Orton gets him in a headlock. Owens gets free and Orton drops him with a shoulder tackle, Owens gets up and he nails a charging Orton with a back elbow strike. Orton drags Owens out of the ring and Owens nails him with a ton of strikes, Orton pokes Owens in the eye before landing strikes of his own. Owens recovers and he sends Orton into the announce table, Owens gets Orton back in the ring before stomping away on him. Orton recovers and he corners Owens before landing some strikes, Owens nails Orton with a super kick after both miss their finishing holds. Orton falls into the corner and Owens nails him with a cannonball, Orton leaves the ring and Owens lands another cannonball as we go to a commercial break. We return from the break to see Owens working Orton over in the ring, Owens corners Orton before landing a bunch of chops. Orton leaves the ring and Owens follows him out there, Orton recovers and he throws Owens into the ring steps. Orton picks up the injured Owens and sends him into the barricade, Orton follows up on that by sending Owens into the ring steps for a second time.
Owens gets back in the ring and Orton stomps away on him, Orton keeps Owens down before nailing him with a knee drop for a near fall. Orton leaves Owens down while holding him in a chin lock, Owens fights back and he cracks Orton with a few strikes. Owens eventually drops Orton with a rebound lariat before landing a senton bomb, Owens looks for the pop up power bomb and Orton leaves the ring. Owens leaves the ring as well and Orton dumps him onto the announce table, Orton gets Owens back in the ring to get a near fall on a pin attempt. Orton gets Owens on the top rope before following him up there, Owens and Orton exchange strikes until Orton is knocked off the ropes. Owens then hits Orton with a swanton bomb for a near fall, Owens goes for a stunner and Orton counters with an RKO for a three count.
Winner: Randy Orton w/Ric Flair
After the match, Randy Orton gets the microphone and he says that he wants to ask Ric Flair to stay put because they have something to talk about. Orton says that he has every right to be upset with Flair right now, but he cannot find it in his heart to be angry with him. Orton says that he fought Kevin Owens tonight because Flair’s ego got in his way last week, Orton talks about everything that Flair has taught him over the years. Orton talks about Flair started helping him when he was just 22 years old, Orton says he doesn’t love or respect Flair anymore because he is becoming a liability. Orton says Flair wishes he could be like him and that’s why he took him under his wing a long time ago, Orton mocks Flair for crying. Orton talks about Flair getting a pacemaker and slipping into a coma two years ago, Orton calls Flair washed up. Orton says Flair is just worried about himself and not Orton winning the WWE Championship, Flair says that he hears what Orton is saying. Flair says that Orton is right about him liking the spotlight and not being the old Flair, Flair talks about being 71 years old and still being on WWE Raw.
Flair says he still wants Orton’s approval and he wants to be there when Orton breaks his title winning record, Flair proclaims Orton the greatest performer in the business today. Flair talks about being in intensive care and making sure he let everybody knows he loved them after waking up from the coma, Flair says all he’s become is Charlotte’s dad and Orton’s friend. Orton knocks the microphone out of Flair’s hand before hugging him, Orton then hits Flair with a low blow. Orton sets up to punt Flair and the lights go out as he lands it, Drew McIntyre eventually comes out and he chases Orton away.
