WWE Plans To Focus YouTube Channel On Creative Content Featuring Talent In Second Half Of 2022

WWE reached a milestone with its YouTube channel, and it intends to shake up the strategy for the platform moving forward.

WWE reached a remarkable milestone with its YouTube channel, and it intends to shake up the strategy for the platform moving forward.

According to David Cohen at Adweek, WWE intends to focus more on creative content featuring talent in the second half of 2022. Part of this new vision will include a relaunch of Sheamus’ Celtic Warrior Workout YouTube channel with some of the NFL’s Tennessee Titans on Friday alongside SummerSlam weekend in Nashville.

This strategy shift comes after WWE surpassed 70 billion views on YouTube, making it the first sports brand and the seventh channel overall to do so.

Speaking with Adweek, WWE vice president, digital Steve Braband discussed this success, saying, “Our success on YouTube is a result of our entire WWE media team working together to produce content for the platform—thinking about our highlights, Superstar interviews and exclusive content strategically for distribution on YouTube. Additionally, YouTube itself has been a historically tremendous partner in guiding the success of our channel.”

The report also notes that WWE’s YouTube channel is on pace hit 90 million subscribers during SummerSlam weekend.

Elsewhere on YouTube, fans can check out the LeftRightLeftRight Title Tournament, which will feature several WWE Superstars, on WWE’s UpUpDownDown channel on July 30.

Speaking of UpUpDownDown, the channel recently crowned a new champion. More information is available here.
